“Why are you so concerned over the circumstances in which you find yourself? When did you forget all that I have taught you so far? Don’t you remember how I do things? When you ask Me for things, I give you more of Myself. That is the best gift that I can think of. When you ask Me for help, I give you My power to overcome. You may not be delivered from your trial, but you will overcome. There is nothing that can withstand My everyday force against the foes of My children.

Don’t you remember that We are in this covenant relationship together? We share what the other is. In your weakness, I am strong. Become weak in Me; I will remain strong for you and through you.”

Phil. 2:12b-13 AMP

12b… work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).

13[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.

II Cor 12:9-10 NIV

9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

10That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

In my teens and early twenties, I used to work on cars quite a bit. I would buy “junkers” and fix them up to sell them, hopefully making some kind of a profit.

One of the tools that I used to use was affectionately known as a “knuckle buster.” It was an adjustable wrench that would efficiently remove a nut that was fairly loose and not frozen in place by rust.

As I was about to use the wrench for the first time, my dad warned me to use it only in the previously mentioned circumstances or the wrench would round off the nut, slip, and cause my knuckles to hit the closest object with whatever force I happened to be applying to the wrench at the time. I don’t remember my reaction to his words - it was probably some “know it all” kind of teen grunt - but I do remember my reaction the first time I misused the wrench while trying to save time. (In fact, tears almost come to my eyes now as I recall the countless times I had the privilege of experiencing that pain. It was not fun!)

We laugh, but most of us play out some version of that story each day in our relationship with God. It’s almost like we read some of the directions for doing things God’s way a long time ago, and decided just after reading them that we understand completely and can do things just fine on our own now, thank you very much!!

In my day, bandages on our hands or skinned knuckles were some kind of “badge of courage” with my buddies and me. We almost paraded our ignorance with a “Yep! I’ve been workin’ on my machine again” kind of bravado.

How foolish it is to regard the teachings of our Lord in the same way. He has told us that if we trust Him completely our “skinned knuckles” will be at a minimum in this life. Since the bandages we need are mostly spiritual, few people see our wounds. They are very real, however, and most of them could be avoided if we would only follow our Father’s directions.

Ouch!

“Do you fully understand the privilege of being in My family? Do you really comprehend the alternative? With your acceptance comes responsibility. You have My Name to uphold. You have My desires to fulfill. You have other members of My family to undergird as they progress in their relationship with Me. A high price was paid for your acceptance. How grateful are you?”

2 Chr 16:9 NIV

“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him...”

Matthew 5:23-24 NIV

23“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,

24leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled with your brother; then come and offer your gift.”

Matthew 25:14-30 NIV

14"Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them.

15To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

16The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more.

17So also, the one with the two talents gained two more.

18But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.

19"After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.

20The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. `Master,' he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.'

21"His master replied, `Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'

22"The man with the two talents also came. ‘Master,' he said, ‘you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.'

23"His master replied, `Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'

24"Then the man who had received the one talent came. ‘Master,' he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.

25So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.'

26"His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?

27Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28" ‘Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents.

29For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.

30And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'"

During our travels throughout the United States, we encounter many people who call themselves Christians. Some really are an example and testimony of Jesus. Many, however, seem to have lost their perspective of Christ’s crucified life, and have turned the Gospel inward. They seem to fully accept the privilege of a relationship with Christ, but place the responsibilities that come with it somewhere behind all of their own agendas.

Serving Christ and accepting His Lordship over our lives is the answer to all human life. It is not a game, nor is it a membership into a “bless me” club. It is a covenant with the Creator of all things. It is a binding contract that is overseen and monitored by the Lord Himself. This covenant agreement with Jesus is taken very seriously in heavenly places. It should be taken very seriously each and every moment of our lives.

Show me what I agreed to, Lord,

“I see all the things that you’re doing for Me, but I’d rather talk. Don’t you feel a little lonely without My presence? Wouldn’t things work better for you if I was at the center of them? Why are you running ahead of Me? We haven’t spent enough time together to have you know My heart. That really has to change. I need to share some pretty vital information with you before you move out again, thinking I am with you. Make Me your priority. Doing good things is not necessarily what I want for you. I want your heart to be in line with My heart. Then We can move together.”

Ps. 16:11 AMP

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

Amos 5:14 NIV

Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is.

Micah 7:7 AMP

But as for me, I will look to the Lord and confident in Him I will keep watch; I will wait with hope and expectancy for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

If we continue to do a bunch of good things and never really learn to wait in God’s presence, we have missed the purpose of the cross. The world knows how to do good things. In fact, because most of us are undone when we come to Christ, we spend most of our days finding answers to our questions and can’t even see the needs around us.

How are you spending your days? Are you firmly convinced that the things you are doing are birthed and anointed by God, or are they just right looking and right sounding events that have little eternal value?

Lord, I want to know you more,

“I’m ready if you are! I’m ready to move if you are willing to put into effect what you have been trained to do. You need to wait in My presence to gain My will before you move. Move only when I tell you to move. Move only with those I give you. Listen to My heart in all of your decisions. Seek wise counsel. Walk in love. Remember why I have called you. Focus on your calling. Wait for My presence. Anticipate miracles when you need them. Enjoy the ride; you are My agent of change!”

Exodus 17:12 AMP

But Moses’ hands were heavy and grew weary. So [the other men] took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Then Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side and one on the other side; so his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Deut. 1:6 NIV

The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain.”

Exodus 33:13-16 NIV

13“If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”

14The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

15Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.

16How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”

Matt.16:19 AMP

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth, must be whatever is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven.

John 7:6-8 NIV

6Therefore Jesus told them, “The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right.

7The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil.

8You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come.”

With the Lord, timing is everything. When I study the heart of God, I see Him moving at determined times with precise measures. Most of us make the mistake of receiving a direction and then running ahead of His will with our own concept of what He has told us. What happens then is a perfect crash and burn scenario.

Allow the Lord to awaken your heart to His next move in your life. Wait for His precise directions. Seek wise counsel. Move in love. The Lord has determined your path. If it is His time for you to move ahead, walk in His perfect will.

Teach me to wait, Lord,

“Everything that you receive from Me is an act of love. You are My cherished child. You are part of Me because of what Jesus has done. When you come to Me with repentance in your heart, I forgive you and remember your sin no more. It is gone as far as I am concerned.

When you need help, I always move in your direction. To maintain peace, you need to remember that while I fully accept you, you are also in training. I fully accept you always, no matter how many times you need to repent to Me because of your sin. My acceptance is part of My overwhelming love for you. I always love you. I am also always training you and fulfilling My promise to make you holy. Sometimes that may appear to you as if answers are delayed or challenging seasons may continue too long.

Remember that I love you. I always love you. Allow that knowledge to remain in your heart when answers to your prayers may seem to take too long while I am training you.”

2 Cor. 3:18 AMP

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV

1Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children

2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Hebrews 10:14 NIV

…because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Rev. 3:19 AMP

Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I tell their faults and convict and convince and reprove and chasten [I discipline and instruct them]. So be enthusiastic and in earnest and burning with zeal and repent [changing your mind and attitude.

It’s so easy to forget that we are continually in training for service. Our lives are not designed to remain in comfort, where we can observe the world going by from some lofty perch. We have been brought into the kingdom of God so that our Lord can accomplish His will through us.

Once that understanding is complete in us, our lives will never be the same. We will be able to walk in full acceptance, bathed in love, willing to be guided to whatever training ground the Lord deems necessary. The highs and lows of whether or not we are accepted will fall by the wayside. The question of whether or not we are loved will be answered, and the purpose for our lives will come into focus the more we submit to His hand. Our lives will become wondrously fulfilled, flowing in loving interaction between Father and child, working in union with a common goal.

Teach me from Your heart, Lord,

“Do you remember when we were alone and quiet and you gave your life to Jesus? I don’t necessarily mean when you made an emotional commitment, but the day you understood His Lordship. I mean that determined moment when everything you were became Mine through Him. I also want you to remember the subsequent times when you confirmed your decision to have Jesus be the Lord over every fiber of your being. You sold out completely for My reasons, rather than remain in the feel-good religion of those around you.

At those confirming moments, you came out of the cold, dead church; and set yourself on a bridal course with Me. Although I am no respecter of persons, I do honor the heart commitment of My true church and deal differently with those who are completely Mine. I take you at your word and your heart purpose, beginning the course to remove everything that is of the flesh in you. That is My determined purpose.

You must understand that your life will never resemble the lives of those in My church who have never gone beyond selfish reasons for knowing Me. Remember, you have decided to respond to the call to be set apart over and over again. When you became serious from the depths of your being, I could begin the deeper work in you individually. In this late season, I am doing that increased work en masse.

Look around to see how many of My people are going through trials to refine them. Be not surprised as more enter into My refinement and the trials increase. Some of My remnant will fall away even now because of the pressure. You remain steadfast. Regain your first love. We will make it through together if you rely on Me. Who will embrace the bridal heart? Let it be you.”

Phil 3:10-11 AMP

10[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]

11That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].

Rev. 3:19 AMP

Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I tell their faults and convict and convince and reprove and chasten [I discipline and instruct them]. So be enthusiastic and in earnest and burning with zeal and repent [changing your mind and attitude].

Far from an “elitism” mentality, there is a separation that is happening within the body of Christ. As usual, the enemy counterfeits any move of God, attempting to draw the unsuspecting believer into a trap of uniqueness or polarization. This end-time separation cannot be counterfeited, however, because it is not one of raising ourselves up, but one of lowering ourselves to a posture of complete surrender to the will of God in every area of our lives—esteeming ourselves as nothing so that Jesus can become everything in us.

This move to bridal preparedness is not the road that many will take because it is a road willingly taken to destroy every ounce of our carnal heart behavior. It is a crucified life, implemented by the Lord in those who continually surrender themselves to Him. It is a road of complete elimination of the flesh so that the Spirit of God is all that remains. It is the dedicated study of Jesus, embracing and accepting His very nature, so that when He comes, we will be like Him.

Waiting,

“Have you forgotten that one day you will stand before Me? You really need to remember that I will judge what you have done in My Name and how you have used what I have given you. You seem to have lost the significance of that event and how important it is to Me that you have an abundance to give to Jesus. You also don’t realize how your actions now reflect on and impact your eternity with Me.

If you choose not to develop intimacy with Me now, how will your life compare to those who have? Will you expect Me to overlook your lack of desire to be with Me? Similarly, if you can’t be trusted with what I give to you to help My Word go forth, why would I entrust you with things of value for eternity? Why should I believe that you care about the things that Jesus really cares about when you ignore them as the priority of your days on earth?

Some of you are in for a very large surprise. You think that you have need of nothing, but you are far from why I have brought you to Me. You have misunderstood My grace. You have listened to false prophets and wealth-driven preachers. You need to repent of your ways and turn to My ways before it is too late. Go back to My Word. Study My heart. Allow Me to change yours!”

Matthew 16:24-25 AMP

24Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also].

25For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting].

Matthew 25:23 NIV

His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!”

Luke 12:19-21 NIV

19And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’

20“But God said to him, ’You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

21“This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.”

1 John 2:6 AMP

Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

Rev. 3:15-18 NIV

15“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!

16So, because you are lukewarm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

17You say, ’I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.”

I wonder how many of us have convinced ourselves that the above verses are meant for all those other people who are in deep sin and not really for those of us who simply have a heart that has hardened just a little bit; you know, those of us who deserve God’s mercy just because we spent our lives overlooking only some of His Word in order to be comfortable?

Change is good, Lord. I say yes!

“Are you willing to carry the weight of the needs of others? Do you really care about your friends to the point that you are willing to do without so that they might prosper? What about those who offend or actually hate you? Will you pour out your life in some way that they might spend time with Me for eternity? Jesus did!”

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

8“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

9“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Matthew 11:12 KJV

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Matthew 16:22-23 NIV

22Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”

23Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”

The above verses seem to be unlikely candidates to use when talking about blessing someone. They are, however, very appropriate when you consider where our real battles lie. In the spiritual realm, the most violent spiritual actions take place in the dark kingdoms whenever someone lives out the character of Jesus.

Jesus destroyed the death grip of selfishness, independence, and the rebellion against God’s ways by giving up everything He owned, even His own life. The Christ-like character traits of obedience, servanthood, selflessness, submission, and a love for others greater than a love for ourselves are in opposition to the rebellious nature that separated us from God in the Garden of Eden. Abiding in Christ means walking with the same heart motives He has. As you walk in His kind of love, you are violently and aggressively opposing the dark realms of the spirit and continually advancing the work of the cross through the power of Jesus.

Your ways are extraordinary, Lord,

“I want to be your only confidence in times of trouble. You need to work with Me towards that end. Do you have any comprehension of how much I love to intervene in your life when you are in peril? I train your heart if you are willing, prepare your spirit, and strengthen your resolve long before there is any sign of trouble, so that you are ready when it comes. Then I am readily available to you to see you through it.

Most of My children come to Me when trouble comes their way. For some it is the only time I can get their attention. They come, however, to have Me deliver them, not to help them walk through the circumstance. They miss so much when this happens. They miss all the work that I am doing in them, work deep within their inner being, to strengthen them for future perilous times. They miss the joy of seeing My plan unfold, because they are focusing on the circumstances and are blinded to My hand of power on their behalf.

You, however, have been in training to know better. Walk in what you know at present and receive more of Me as trials come. Begin to rejoice in My deliverance, enjoy each step, and take pleasure as you see My way of bringing you through. Give Me time to work. Give My plan time to unfold. Watch as I eliminate the persons who persecute you. Marvel at how events come into play that fulfill My desired outcome. I have brought you through battles so many times already that by now you should almost enjoy the challenges presented, just so you can observe how I am going to prosper you this time.

Rest in Me. Take comfort in My promises. Relax in My love for you. As the battle rages, you come with Me to a high place. I will show you the wonders of the places in which I dwell. I will give you rich nourishment, even while those who hate you flounder in their folly against you. Come with Me. I will show you My hand in action. I love you.”

Psalm 20:6-8 NIV

6Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He answers him from His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand.

7Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God.

8They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

It is amazing to see the hand of our Father at work as He frustrates the plans of those who come against us. It’s interesting to see the silly gyrations, controlling manipulations, and empty threats if you have found that place of safety in Him. All that happens holds only empty threats that become evident when observed from the lap of the Father.

In the many years that I have had the privilege of walking with my Lord, I have had countless opportunities of seeing His delivering hand. After having been in so many battles, one would think that an image of strength similar to the “Rambo” character would emerge. Those who battle in their own strength take great pride in that kind of image. It only shows their ignorance of the Word and need for self-glorification.

True children of the Lord are very familiar with the path to the lap of Father God. They understand the power of His weapons and the wisdom of His plans. They have found that it is much more productive to allow the Lord to wage any war that might come against them, rather than attempt to quench the onslaught themselves, frantically calling for help while feverishly at work. The track record of the Lord immediately comes to the mind of those who have learned this lesson.

The view of any battle observed from our Father’s presence is a wonder to behold. The counsel of His heart overshadows every threat, the sound of His voice rings above the din, and the freedom of His love annihilates any foe. It is the only place for a child of Father God to rest as the battle rages.

Take my hand, Father,

“Everything that I bring to life has an order to it. There is always a beginning, an intermediate time of development and the institution of My plan; and then there is an ending. It is My pattern for physical life. What is never fully appreciated is that My spiritual plan never ceases.

Your development time in the physical has paramount impact on your spiritual life. The choices you make have eternal impact, not only on your life, but on everyone you encounter. Your interaction with others is My way of refining you and helping them to make proper choices. That is why I put you in training to be like Jesus to your world. Your life is no small thing. Each of your representations to others really influences them for eternity. What you do each and every day has meaning. Make your days count. They have eternal impact on someone.”

Gen. 1:27-28a AMP

27So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.

28aAnd God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]…

Esther 4:13-14 AMP

13Then Mordecai told them to return this answer to Esther, Do not flatter yourself that you shall escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.

14For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?

Phil. 2:12b-13 AMP

12b…work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).

13[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.

Interaction with others is God’s way of refining us and those around us. He has placed us in a world that is actually out to kill us, so to speak. As Christians, we are oil floating on top of water and if we are true to our calling, we’ll never mix in because the spirit and flesh cannot function together. God has also called us to overcome that world. Our time spent with others and our responses to them allow us to seek the Father so that we can be changed in order to reflect Christ properly.

Once we have given Jesus Lordship over our lives, it is the Father’s intent to refine, mold, and develop that salvation in us to the fullest extent. If we are going to tell others about Jesus, we will have to be changed so that we can represent Him properly. Our words alone will usually not be enough for others to see their need of Jesus. In fact, if our lives do not mirror Him, our words will more than likely be cast aside.

Your grace is sufficient,

Jim Corbett

“To become wealthy in Me takes time and patience on both Our parts. Because of the astounding work of the cross, you have full and complete access to Me. What you do with that privilege determines how much of My heart you acquire. When We spend time together, I give you more of My passions, plans, and desires. Again, you have the freedom to walk in them or simply take them and allow them to fall by the wayside of your life.

The more you cherish that to which you have been privy, the more I can trust you with My heart. So many of you live your lives in spiritual poverty, when limitless wealth is available to you. You have denied the power of the cross. You have refused the banquet of My love. You have chosen the desert and foolishly refuse to move to plush green pastures because they take time and effort.

I grieve for you and wish it were not so. But then, you can’t know that because you haven’t asked Me how I feel. You come to Me for your personal reasons and miss My heart. What a waste of what has been won for you by Jesus!”

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Mark 15:37-38 AMP

37Jesus uttered a loud cry, and breathed out His life.

38And the curtain [of the Holy of Holies] of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

One day I was recording songs for an internet radio station that we’ve developed. The songs are selected for their impact and value in helping the listener to know more of God and draw closer to Him. One song that has touched me deeply is a song by Larnelle Harris called “I Miss My Time with You.”

As the title implies, it is the Lord expressing how much He misses those intimate moments spent with His children. I believe that the song is a sincere call from our Father to each of us and a truth for which many of us need to repent. We miss Who our Father God is when we simply are too busy to spend time with Him. How foolish we are!

Your patience and love are amazing, Father,

“If I called you to an important project and it meant giving up everything you hold dear, would you do it? If your answer is no, you need to assess your commitment to Me. For that matter, I will assess your commitment level. My Word calls for a commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. That means that He is Lord over you, everything you own, and all that you are. You have been bought by Him and are owned by Me. If I called you to an important project and it meant giving up everything you hold dear, would you do it? I am looking for an answer.”

Acts 8:4 AMP

Now those who were scattered abroad went about [through the land from place to place] preaching the glad tidings, the Word [the doctrine concerning the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God].

Romans 10:9-10 NIV

9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Romans 12:1 NIV

Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God…

1 Cor 6:19b-20 NIV

19b…You are not your own;

20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

We are to give everything, just as Jesus did. Of course, we are not the Savior of the world, nor are we the Son of God or anything like that; but we are supposed to walk in the steps of Jesus. He showed us the way that we would be able to walk in this world—by His power. In covenant with Him, we have taken on His Name. We have chosen to represent Him above anyone else, and we have been given the commission to do so.

As ambassadors of His kingdom, our task is to present to a lost world the elements of an abundant, truthful way to live. There is no room for a compromise of that mandate, if we truly desire to be in accord with His wishes. As we exhibit more of His character, the world will see more of Him. What possible reason will we be able to give for not having walked as Jesus walked on this earth?”

Following You,

“I call you to rest. Rest in My faithfulness! I am your Father. You need to understand that My heart is toward you. I do not hold back any good thing from those I love. I love you. Get your focus off of those things that you think you need. Spend quality time with Me. Soon your needs will either change or I will bring forth an answer to them. I am looking for heart interaction with you, not presentations of your laundry list. We need to talk, often. We need to express the love of Our hearts. Trust Me! I am looking out for your best interests.”

Ps. 51:10 AMP

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering and steadfast spirit within me.

Prov.3:5-6 NIV

5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Amos 5:4b AMP

…Seek Me [inquire for and of Me and require Me as you require food] and you shall live!

Rom. 8:28 NIV

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

1 Cor. 13:11 AMP

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; now that I have become a man, I am done with childish ways and have put them aside.

Most of us do not really trust God. We pray and do not expect answers. We say that we have faith, but often take matters into our own hands when answers seem delayed. We use our own logic or the logic of the world, rather than trusting in God’s ways.

Then we blame Him for unanswered prayers, not being there for us; and not caring that we are hurting. We truly are like children who will not grow up. We stomp our feet when we don’t get God to think or do things our way, and hold our breath in an attempt to move His hand of provision. We simply will not function in the life and fellowship with our Father God that Jesus has provided for us, and then wonder why we have little of the freedom it would provide. How foolish!

I choose to rest in Your faithfulness, Lord,

“I choose to do astonishing things through you. It is My plan to use you in a way that gives real meaning to your life. You have a hope that is more powerful than many of those who appear successful in your eyes. They feel they don’t need Me, because they can look as if they prosper in their own strength.

But you, you are Mine. I will show you how to prosper in My strength and power. You will be functioning in My spiritual strength while walking with Me to accomplish My kind of prosperity. They have no knowledge of that kind of wealth. You be encouraged. I see your need. I am faithful. I will never leave you. If you choose to walk closely with Me, once again I say, I choose to do astonishing things through you and with you.”

John 14:12 NIV

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.”

Hebrews 13:5b AMP

…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

Our relationship with God moves us into much different realms than those of the world. His values are far higher than even the most renowned scholar. His concepts of wealth make no sense to the world. Everything God does has eternal benefits and consequences, whereas worldly investments all pass away.

Seeking after anything of the world is a dead-end venture. Pursuing the things of God is a pursuit that leads to a life that has real significance. Astounding things happen when we sell out to our Lord and His ways.

“The cross is My focal point. Eternity past waited for the cross to destroy the curse. Eternity present awaits its final harvest. Eternity future exists as a result of its work. Death overcame life as it was known. Life then overcame death to change eternity for those who believe. A simple cross! An astounding resurrection! An eternal impact!”

Matthew 26: 53-54 NIV

53“Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

54But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

Luke 23:44-45 NIV

44It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour,

45for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

John 18:11 AMP

Therefore, Jesus said to Peter, Put the sword [back] into the sheath! The cup which My Father has given Me to drink, shall I not drink it?

John 19:30 NIV

…Jesus said, “It is finished.”

John 20:17 NIV

Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father.”

Only after we are in the eternity provided for us by the cross will we appreciate the wonder of its work. Only then will we also fully appreciate the impact of Christ’s resurrection. For now, all we can really do is be thankful for the hope that we have been given.

Thank You, Lord,

Jim Corbett

“Because of the eternal work of the cross, I was able to tear the veil apart so that you would have access to Me. I was delighted to tear it Myself. I had longed to have Our relationship restored, so that We could share intimacies for all of eternity. I know that you understand that you are invited to spend time with Me. Why then don’t you care to come?

You say that you would like to be with Me. I have invited you. Jesus has made a way, and now you don’t consider spending time with Me important enough to set aside worldly intrusions so that We can be together. Do you understand how foolish that is? You are missing so much, but it doesn’t seem to even matter. One day you will wish that you really knew Me, My heart, and My ways. Then it will be too late!”

Prov. 28:14 AMP

Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is the man who reverently and worshipfully fears [the Lord] at all times [regardless of the circumstances], but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

Isaiah 46:9-10 AMP

9[Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old; for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me.

10Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose.

Jeremiah 2:13 NIV

“My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”

Zechariah 7:13 NIV

“‘When I called, they did not listen; so when they called, I would not listen,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Luke 23:44-45 NIV

44It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour,

45for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

The only way that any real change will be completed in you is to make communication and communion with your Father God a priority in your life. Your access to Him is the main reason Jesus lived and died and lives again. Use your privilege wisely. You are welcome into the throne room of the living God. It is where you will find the secrets of living Christ’s passionate life as you quietly commune with Him.

Forgive me, Lord,

“My heart longs for truth to again reign in My church. I long for My children to walk in the heritage that Jesus provided for them. They have been formed to see, walk, and love as Jesus did. You who can hear at present, begin to lead others to truth. You become committed to My desires. You become purposeful in your life directions. You become deliberate in the crucifixion of your old life and determine in your hearts to take on the life of Jesus. Allow Him to live through you. Submit to His life so that others will have hope of seeing truth again. Turn now. Many need you to show them the way.”

Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12:12-13 NLB

12So take a new grip with your tired hands and stand firm on your shaky legs.

13Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong.

Jesus set forth a life that is a pattern which those of us who call ourselves by His Name are required to follow if we desire to represent Him properly. To act any other way denies Who He really is.

Father God is serious in bringing His church back to the truth. The truth is that we must begin to act as Jesus would act in front of others. The first century church did it. Many people throughout history did it. So must we.

What gospel do you follow? Is it the gospel of Jesus Christ? Can you prove that by your obedient, sacrificial life? Or is it another gospel? How you live answers that question!

Create in me a clean heart, Jesus, like Yours!

“When was the last time you stood in the gap for someone who could not stand for himself? How often have you been an advocate friend for another? My heart never sways from a total commitment to you. I ask you to do the same for each other. Commit to each other with unbridled love. Be immovable in your love for each other. Stand strong alongside weaker hearts. Love as Jesus does. Love as I do.”

Romans 15:1-7 NIV

1We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.

2Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

3For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

4For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

5May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,

6so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

It is so easy to forget that real, passionate, immovable love is at the center of all that the Lord does. Dead religion practices rituals, builds programs, does good stuff; and tolerates those who are less than perfect. It judges, condemns, and separates from others at the drop of a hat.

The kind of love that inspired the violence of the cross, the passion of the resurrection, and the promise of the return of Jesus is a love that each of us is called to practice. It is a selfless love devoted to living for the best interests of others. That is not a suggestion for each of us to consider. It is a command to us if we say that we belong to God.

“Become determined to follow My calling for you. Let nothing, I mean nothing, interfere with what you have been told to do for Me. You must understand the season in which you are living. It is the closing hours of what must come. My plans are unfolding at an increased rate. I need people whom I can trust to walk with My heart and My goals in mind, looking only to Jesus.

If you are swayed by the invasions of the enemy, or even by immature believers, you will be unable to fulfill the reason you have been born. Shake loose from all of the dictates of mankind. Stop following their rules, regulations, and timetables. You are Mine. You have been bought with a price. Become Mine from your heart now, not your head. We have much to do. Jesus made a way - now walk in it.”

Luke 9:23-25 AMP

23And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also].

24For whoever would preserve his life and save it will lose and destroy it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he will preserve and save it [from the penalty of eternal death].

25For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and ruins or forfeits (loses) himself?

God is calling His people to holiness. He is requiring the crucified life exhibited by Jesus as part of our devotion to Him. Praise without devotion is empty words set to a pretty melody. Worship without a proper, holy heart assignment is nothing more than religious games.

There is a groundswell of believers who are hearing the call of the heart of the Lord on their lives. It is deafening to those who hear it and as silent as a dog’s whistle to those who desire “business as usual” in their relationship with the Lord.

In the near future, what is required to prosper will have little to do with the ways of the world, even for those who are of the world. True prosperity will be governed by the Holy Spirit. It will be heavenly wealth given to those who have containers prepared to receive it, honor it, and share it as directed by the Father.

The price to flow in this life of Christ is high. It is the same price that was demonstrated from the manger to the cross. Abiding in absolute obedience, prospering in unselfish love, waiting as a prepared bride and bathed in the exquisite fragrance of continual communion with our heavenly Father, the remnant believer will be the true representation of Jesus to a dying world. Are you part of it?

“When you get a focused vision for doing My will, many intrusions will attempt to distract you. When you function in My will, new, rich fruit will become evident. When rich fruit from your functioning in Me becomes evident, attacks of the enemy will increase to distract you from keeping on course. They will be an attempt to sidetrack you from what you were doing to produce the rich fruit, and force you to become an “enemy fighter.” It is a tactic often used to nullify your productivity for My kingdom. Keep your eyes on the course that you have been given and turn the warfare over to Me. I will be your defender. I will use My power on your behalf. You keep your attentions on your task at hand and continue to allow fruit from your efforts to ripen. I am your strong tower.”

Acts 4:29-35 NIV

29“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your Word with great boldness.

30Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

31After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

32All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.

33With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all.

34There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales

35and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.

During this time of great pressure, the apostles prayed for boldness, not deliverance, and they did not refocus their attentions. The Lord responded with the provision of boldness, power, and unity. The work continued without the typical sidetracking.

If you are under pressure because of the inroads you are making for the Lord, turn the warfare over to Him and keep doing what is bearing fruit. Do not be enticed into the “alligator fight” that will quiet your work and garner your attention.

Keep me looking only to You,

Jim Corbett

“Those of you, who have determined in your heart to hear My heart, know that something has recently happened in the spiritual realm. You are aware of the move into a darker time as promised in My Word. Corresponding to what has happened in the heavenlies, I have escalated your training. I need you to mature so that you will be able to minister to those who have not heeded My warnings for the past years.

So many are fighting to make their world a better place. They have become so involved in coming against the progressing darkness that they have missed what is really happening. They have missed My call to wrap up with Me. Now they have no power to be light. They have never allowed Me to show them who Jesus really is. When the time comes, they will not be able to represent Him because they do not really know Him.

You must be ready to show them Jesus. Embrace the trials that will change and strengthen you. Embrace Jesus. He is your only hope to overcome what is about to be brought forth in your world.”

Psalm 127:1 AMP

Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; except the Lord keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.

Isaiah 48:3 NIV

I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.

Many richer portions of the character of God are revealed to us as we go deeper into His Word and as we spend time with Him. One of the most evident and outstanding revelations of God is that He really means what He says. He always follows through on what He has promised. That is quite sobering as we see prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes. How can we be so nonchalant about our relationship with Him, knowing what follows these seemingly every day events?

“Delight yourself in the things that delight My heart. Become deeply involved in the situations to which I lead you. Invest yourself. No longer remain passive about the world around you. I want you to become passionate about your life and the people to whom I send you. Become passionate about My Word.

You have lost your first love. Your heart has become hardened in a time when I need people to see the heart of Jesus in you. Shake off your complacency. I need your heart of fire about My ways, not your cold, complacent compliance. Wake up or you will miss My purpose for you. The enemy of My ways is not at rest. You sleep while he makes inroads into the hearts of those who have not heard because you have not told them. How can you not care?”

Esther 4:13-14 AMP

13Then Mordecai told them to return this answer to Esther. Do not flatter yourself that you shall escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.

14For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?

Psalm 106:12-15 AMP

12Then [Israel] believed His words [trusting in, relying on them]; they sang His praise.

13But they hastily forgot His works; they did not [earnestly] wait for His plans [to develop] regarding them,

14But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted and tried to restrain God [with their insistent desires] in the desert.

15And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their souls and [thinned their numbers by] disease and death.

Proverbs 29:1 AMP

He who, being often reproved, hardens his neck shall suddenly be destroyed—and that without remedy.

Proverbs 29:21 AMP

He who pampers his servant from childhood will have him expecting the rights of a son afterward.

Most of us become so mesmerized by the cares of our lives that we cease to place our greatest importance on the cares of our Lord. We may appear to be following our Father’s will by fellowshipping or throwing money at some cause; but our hearts are most of the time far from the heart of our Father. Eventually, our first heart zeal becomes atrophied. We spiritually zone out and cannot be moved by anything other than those things that directly concern us.

Sensitivity toward the heart of God is the inward desire of the compassionate heart. This heart cannot be satisfied until God’s heart is satisfied upon the completion of all things. It drives a person to whatever end will satisfy Father God’s heart and allow others to see Him. Those with a compassionate spirit unconditionally surrender all control of their lives to the Lordship of Jesus and joyfully embrace a life of self-denial.

Wake me up to Your ways, Lord,

“I would like you to join Me in one of My very important projects. I am deeply involved in the elimination of your flesh in all that you do. When you gave your life to Me through Jesus, you promised to do your part in becoming like Jesus, so that the world would see Him in you. That is what Lordship means. Whether you know it or not, you took Him as your Lord over every item of your being. As Lord, Jesus has the right of entire control over all of your thoughts, needs, desires, and actions. He paid the price for that right with His life.

If you called upon Him for salvation, you have agreed to that price. Your submission is your part of the agreement. The elimination of your old life is part of Our promise to you. You need to join now in the elimination of that old life instead of resisting that work in you. You act as if you have a right to act in the same way you did before you made the covenant agreement. If you go about the business of doing just enough to get by and to feel good about yourself, you miss the wonder, power, and intent of the covenant.

Instead, you should be a companion in the search for all of your ways that are out of order, seeing them and requesting change as you do. So much time is wasted during the time needed for conviction to have its work in you when you truly do not understand Our covenant together. Our relationship could be much more fulfilling, Our fellowship much more heightened, if you would willingly participate in separating the dead person you once were from the spirit that has been made alive in you.

Stop resisting the Word at work within you. Stop looking at this relationship as one-sided. We have joined together for the immediate task of seeing Jesus formed in you. A true bride examines her wedding garment for any blemish in order to please her Groom. Join Me in the search. We could be having such fun together in Our quest.”

I Cor. 7:23 AMP

You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for by Christ]; then do not yield yourselves up to become [in your own estimation] slaves to men [but consider yourselves slaves to Christ].

Phil. 2:12-13 AMP

12Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my suggestions], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).

13)[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.

I Thes. 2:13 AMP

And we also [especially] thank God continually for this, that when you received the message of God [which you heard] from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the Word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its superhuman power in those who adhere to and trust in and rely on it].

When you really think about it, without Lordship or an absolute, full submission of every area of our lives to Jesus, our confession of Christ means little, our commitment to God means less; and our commitment to each other has no true spiritual bond. We would not be much different than any powerless religion.

Uncover any area where I am still in charge, Lord,

“The highest honor you can bestow on Jesus is to imitate Him in your daily life. He lived to make that visible. He died to make that possible. He now lives as a witness to the wonder of what has been accomplished.”

John 6:57 AMP

Just as the living Father sent Me and I live by (through, because of) the Father, even so whoever continues to feed on Me [whoever takes Me for his food and is nourished by Me] shall [in his turn] live through and because of Me.

1 Cor. 11:1 NIV

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

Ephesians 3:10-12 AMP

10[The purpose is] that through the church the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere.

11This is in accordance with the terms of the eternal and timeless purpose which He has realized and carried into effect in [the person of] Christ Jesus our Lord.

12In Whom, because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear).

1 John 2:6 AMP

Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

The life that we have been given is more wondrous than we can ever imagine. Immense heavenly resources were spent so that you and I can flow in the character of Jesus Christ for eternity through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are His because of Him. We remain His because He lives.

“Choose Jesus! In everything you do, choose Jesus! When temptation comes your way, choose Jesus! When fear attempts to overpower you, choose Jesus! Whisper it quietly, say it out loud, express it from your heart; choose Jesus and watch the enemy flee.

Planted thoughts, wandering motives, and rampant temptations have no power over your choice to surrender to Jesus and all His completed work in your life. Choosing Him brings His resurrected life to you in full force to overcome. Cease from striving. Call out to Jesus and invoke His covenant promises.

Choose Jesus over and over again until your choice becomes an expression of praise and a statement of rock solid commitment. Choose Jesus! He is Lord over all!”

Matt. 13:54-58 AMP

54And coming to His own country [Capernaum], He taught in their synagogue so that they were amazed with bewildered wonder, and said, Where did this Man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?

55Is not this the carpenter’s Son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?

56And do not all His sisters live here among us? Where then did this Man get all this?

57And they took offense at Him [that is, they were repelled and hindered from acknowledging His authority, and caused to stumble]. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.

58And He did not do many works of power there, because of their unbelief (their lack of faith in the divine mission of Jesus).

Luke 10:19 KJV

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

John 6:57 AMP

Just as the living Father sent Me and I live by (through, because of) the Father, even so whoever continues to feed on Me [whoever takes Me for his food and is nourished by Me] shall [in his turn] live through and because of Me.

This message comes to me as a warm friend. For many years, my thought life seemed out of control. I would be praying, spending time with God, and without warning find myself thinking incredible, wandering, sometimes foul thoughts. I would have to snap my thoughts back into perspective, repenting of my inability to keep focused.

One day, as I was questioning my Father about this situation, He showed me that the enemy planted those thoughts. If I didn’t continue in them once I realized that they were there, I hadn’t sinned. That alone was incredibly refreshing. Then He spoke to my heart, “Choose Jesus.” So simple! Choose Jesus over the prevailing thoughts.

Since those days, I choose Jesus the moment I realize that my mind has wandered. Sometimes I say it out loud. Sometimes I whisper it in love to my Father, confirming and thanking Him for what Jesus has done. It may sound like a formula, and maybe it once was; but it has become a loving heart expression of my acceptance of all that He has done and is doing for me. I choose Jesus and nothing else. There is no other. Saying it has become a form of praise to Him and brings everything into proper focus.

I choose only You, Lord,

“I miss the time We used to share together. You have become so busy paying attention to the things that seem so urgent that you have forgotten what is really important. In doing so, you are making those things more important than Our relationship. That grieves My heart. You have been reborn to have intimate fellowship with Me. Your new life allows you to participate with the eternal things of My heart.

Why do you continue to place your priority on things that are passing away? Why do you feel that you can exist without the fellowship in which I have created you to participate? Make Me your priority. Even short, intimate moments together will modify your world immensely. Come to Me now. It is what I have formed you to do.”

John 5:19-20 NIV

19Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

20For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does…”

Romans 8:5 AMP

For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.

Can you imagine the self-importance of taking for granted the opportunity of going into the presence of God? It took the bloodied body of Jesus Christ hanging on the cross to destroy the veil of separation between the Almighty, Living God and us. We are now invited to share things of importance heart to Heart. Sometimes we say, “No thanks.” Pretty scary, huh?

Break my prideful heart, Lord,
