“You have been given access to Me in the Name of Jesus. It is the only name that is powerful enough to accomplish that access. I send you to others in the Name of Jesus. It is the only name powerful enough to break down all the barriers that would hinder your representation of truth to them.

Jesus! The single name that spans all time, the Name from eternity past to all of eternity future. Your world was changed by it. You even count down the time waiting for His return to you by events that He has established. Jesus - the Name that is above every name ever given. Jesus: whisper it, speak it, shout it from the rooftops, and weep in praise when it passes your lips. Jesus! Your Very Soon Coming King!”

Our whole Bible is focused on one very precious Name and the single most important event in the history of all mankind. Jesus is the promised Messiah and Redeemer of all mankind from Genesis to Revelation. He is the highest Name above all names and the Eternal Lord. No other name is as important in all of eternity past and through all of eternity future. He is Jesus.

How privileged we are to be called by His Name, allowed to function in His Name, receive mercy and grace at the throne of the Father because of His blood and His Name; and be able to call upon His Name whenever needed. Think about it. The One who is far above every other name still knows us by name.

“My gifts to you sometimes come in the form of great trials and hardships. I know that it is hard for you to see My love in difficult circumstances, but from the heavenly perspective it is the greatest kind of love. Look at it this way. I know what you are about to face in this life. I know where your weaknesses are, and I also know where you are vulnerable to attack. If I didn’t strengthen you in those areas, what kind of love would that be? It would be no love at all, but very much like an uncaring friend.

I am training you for My ministry of reconciliation. That is why you must submit to My training. Let Me assure you that I am hovering over you in the midst of each trial to make sure that it is not too much for you. It needs to be strong enough to change you, but it will not crush you. Rest assured that I am with you through it. I love you.”

Rev. 3:19 AMP

Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I tell their faults and convict and convince and reprove and chasten [I discipline and instruct them]. So be enthusiastic and in earnest and burning with zeal and repent [changing your mind and attitude].

II Cor. 5:17-19 AMP

17Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

18But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].

19It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but canceling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).


If you haven’t been through any kind of trial or hardship before this, just keep walking with Jesus and you will experience them. It is part of God’s promise to us to train us for our ministry of restoring others to the Lord. Look at the lives of the prophets and apostles. Look at those who willingly gave up their lives for Jesus throughout the centuries. How do our trials compare to theirs? Then again, how does our love for God and other people compare to theirs?

I am convinced that our ability to love others and to love God is directly related to the amount of forgiveness we have received and the amount of pressure that we submit to at the hand of God. Placing ourselves directly in a situation of desperately needing the Father eventually trains us to have the kind of faith and caring that is needed to touch our world. (Is God responsible for all of the evil things that happen to us and in the world? Of course not. There is an enemy of our soul that is in the business of discouraging us, trying to separate us from the love of God, and attempting to kill us.)

Maybe we need to really understand something, however. God is not in the business of making our lives comfortable. To believe that is a lie. (That lie has done more harm than almost anything in the body of Christ because to believe it allows us to embrace a self-centered, self -absorbed gospel.)

God is in the business of making sure that others do not perish. His plan is to use us to bring that gospel to those who haven’t heard it. The problem is that you and I are not showing others what Jesus looks like, so He needs to change our character.

Few people will embrace the saving Gospel and come to Jesus because of our lives and our witness, if all we can offer them is empty words and fruitless lives. We need a Christ-like life for them to see who He is. That kind of life only comes through the pressure of trials and hardships. They are forming us to embrace those who hate us and those who need us.

“Perilous times require adventurous people to counteract fear in the immature believer. You are heading for some perilous times, and it is time for you to make some decisions. What will you do when everyone else panics? Where will you find safety when everyone around you finds their strength in what they can do with their heads and their hands?

You need to practice My presence now. You need to learn to remain on My lap until I release you with the answers that are needed to overcome the situation in My timing. You need to learn to hear My voice above the din created by the loud voices of carnal men and immature believers. I want you to realize something. If you are really following Me, you should have long ago considered yourself dead to everything that others long for. This world should hold nothing for you. You should be getting rid of those things that hold your attention, instead of acquiring more. You should be practicing to become a leader to those who will need answers when the paper leaders fail them. That power comes from being with Me.

Become adventurous today. Quit holding on to things that will soon disappear. Hold on to Me. I will show you places that are marvelous, when others see only havoc. I will show you wondrous, high places that cannot be touched by carnal fears and insignificant terrors. I will make you adventurous when others are hamstrung with fear and confusion. I will impart My kind of strength to you. Your place is with Me, not with those who are hanging on to things that don’t matter. Time with Me is where the resources for your adventure will be found. Come to Me now.”

Hebrews 10:32-36 NIV

32Remember those earlier days after you received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering.

33Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated.

34You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.

35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.

36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.


I wonder what the early church would think of the self-serving gospel that is being presented in most circles these days. I wonder how Paul would contend with the prosperity preachers who would proclaim that it was his lack of faith that landed him in prison. How many of them do you think came to him in his day, telling him to confess that he is free so that he could be? The immaturity of today’s doctrines is so apparent when placed alongside the maturity of those who understood their positions as believers, and showed us a much better way.

From the moment Saul (Paul) was knocked down on his way to Damascus by the power of God, his adventure began. His feet were firmly placed on a new road to uncharted territory. He was on his way to living a life that few, if any, had experienced before - a life of death to self and alive to Christ and His ways. He led the way to the most prosperous life imaginable, designed in heaven and implemented by his Lord. Hidden danger, terrorizing threats, beatings, and imprisonment were no match for the wonder of trusting his Lord at every turn. He had found the greatest adventure of his life.

Our Father has shown us the success achieved at the end of Paul’s kind of life. Not very visible then, but read about most every day since he lived it by those who need to learn how to really live God’s way.

“Let’s do lunch. I’ll be the main course. Do you realize that whenever We spend time together, I don’t just give you things to learn, I always impart to you more of Myself? When you feed on My Word, I am imparting more of the character of My Son, Who is the Word, to you. As soon as you truly begin to understand what happened at your salvation, and what happens every time We get together, you will really start to enjoy this new life that you have been given.

Just for starters, let Me tell you a little truth. This life that We share together is not about being good, or preaching to others, or even going to church. Your new life is about Us spending time together for eternity simply because I want to be near you forever. In the meantime, I’m promising to make you more like Me, so that you can better understand all the spiritual eternities that are in store for you.

You can’t begin to understand how I think or what I do unless you know Me. You get to know Me when I give you Me – My thoughts, My heart, My ways. Eventually, when this physical life of yours is over, “I”, the “Me” that I have imparted to you, will simply flow in a wonderful union with you, the “Me” that you have received. Come to Me when you are sick of food that can only give temporary nourishment. Let’s get some eternal food together. I’ll gladly give you who I am.”

8For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord.

9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

11So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.


Huh? I don’t get it!

Actually, I do get it enough to somewhat enjoy the wonder of what Jesus has done on the cross for us. He restored us to a place where we can again be in fellowship with our true Father. When the veil was torn while Jesus was on the cross, we were given full access to the holy places of God. We could freely come near Him. As astounding as that is, there is more.

With the new birth, we have been made spiritual people, capable of functioning in our new heavenly home, interacting with God. We have been made like Him to be able to interact with Him. Everything will be crystal clear when we get there.

Since we are not there yet, our Father builds us piece by piece to resemble Him more, to understand Him more. He even set a pattern for us to emulate in the life of Jesus. Jesus’ life also gives us a glimpse of how we are going to look and function. The “getting there” happens as we spend time with God, in prayer and in the Word. He gives us Himself. Incredible!!!

Getting hungry and pretty tired of my junk food diet. May I have more of Jesus, please?

“If you were not allowed to speak at all, would everyone around you know that you have given your life to Jesus by the way that you lived? Would your works of service and your countenance testify of a love within you that defies the circumstances around you? It must, you know! You must display the character of Jesus by presenting His life to those hungry for life. You must be so bold in your presentation of My truth that people need to make choices about their lives when you are in their presence.

It is your privilege to love deeper and give greater gifts to the world, because the One who is greater than anyone or anything that the world has to offer dwells within you. You can be full and overflowing if you would only sell out fully to My Holy Spirit. Stop limiting what I can do through you. Begin today to speak out loud to everyone of My love, and if need be add some words to your sermon. Sit with Me first; I’ll show you how to do it.”

Rom. 12:1 AMP

I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

10And try to learn [in your experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [let your lives be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him].

Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.


I’m convinced that if Jesus never said one word during His life among the people, His message would still have been presented. It would have occurred for one simple reason. His priority was to spend time with His Father.

Most of us who call ourselves Christians scurry here and there trying to convince the world that we are who we say we are. Very much like the Pharisees, we herald our sermons from the lofty places with flourish, expounding our wisdom to those “poor and unfortunate” people who are dying in their sin. Most of those around us wonder what the silly noise is all about. If everything we do would be done only after we have spent enough time with our Father to know what He would have us do, we would leave His lap full of His presence. Our world and the world would never be the same.

“Too many of My children are still not getting it. So many who call themselves “Mine” are going about their “business as usual” lives without giving thought to the signs all around them. I am heralding the call to lay down your lives. I am wooing My people to an intimacy with Me. I am asking those who call themselves Mine to love deeper and care more for others, so that the world can see My Son through them.

If you hear these calls, proclaim them to those who cannot hear or have become deaf. You proclaim a selfless life of love by your actions, not your words. Love like My Son did in a world where people are desperate for answers and direction for their lives. He showed the way; now it’s your turn.”

John 3:30 AMP

He must increase, but I must decrease. [He must grow more prominent; I must grow less so.]

5But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him:

6Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.


For many years, I thought that following Jesus was only reading the Word, gathering together, and singing praises. I thought that the more I did those things the more I could build myself up to become a spiritual person. While it is true that doing all those things is very important in the Christian walk; I found that, more importantly, the Word that is effectually at work in me was completing its task at making less of the person I used to be. I thought that if I would become more, do more, learn more, preach more, it would make me a better Christian. All the while, Jesus was making me less, just as promised.

He knew that all of “my stuff” had little to do with representing Him. What I needed was more of Him and less of me.

He came to die for the best interests of others. He came empty of His own agendas, open only to the heart of His Father. He put aside Himself so that you and I might live eternally.

Now, those of us who believe and call Jesus “Lord” are asked to do the same for others as our only life’s work through God’s power, just as He did. Why is that so difficult for us to understand and submit to, especially in these closing days when our Lord is speaking very clearly to those who will hear?

“Failure to submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is a crucial error. Your submission to His Lordship transfers ownership. You submit to His blood purchase. You are no longer your own, but His. It transfers allegiances. You submit to His will over your life. The world no longer has control over you. You are free from its death and decay. It transfers eternal homes. You are safe with Jesus for eternity.”

Here’s a thought! Let’s all declare personal (spiritual) bankruptcy, so that we can function as that new creature in Christ, which we became when we put Jesus in charge of our lives. Confusion and difficulty arise when we continually try to become better Christians.

God never asked us to do that. His desire is that we become empty, so that the life of Jesus is free to function in us. We seem determined to add our own efforts to God’s plan for us, and then we never reach the fullness that total dependence on God brings. Selah! (Pause, and calmly think of that!)

People will be reached by our righteous living in their midst. We are an extension of His plan to draw all people to Himself. If we are not holy (righteous) in their midst, no one will see God.

Righteousness (a heart that desires holiness) means to be set apart. Any ungodly person can return evil for evil, or good for good. Only a godly person can return good for evil.

Righteousness is a spirit of God. It is a quality of God. It can only develop as we submit to God. Righteousness is a heart desire, not just deeds done in the spirit of religion or only for external appearances.

From the cross, the reasons for living and for dying make perfect sense. From the cross, there is no purpose but My purpose for your life. That makes everything else clear. Take up your cross and passionately follow Jesus. From the cross, you will see what Jesus saw. You will be above the world and its ways. From the cross, the view is beautiful.”

Jesus saw far beyond all the pain and suffering of the cross. He saw the love of His Father from the cross. He saw you and me being able to spend eternity with Him. From the cross, He saw the answer to all of life’s problems for anyone who embraced it.

As the world searches blindly for a reason to live, anyone who embraces the cross of Jesus Christ has a clear vision of what life is all about. The cross removes all carnal distractions, all worldly views, and all confusing priorities. The cross is the focal point of all eternity. It is that to which those living on this earth prior to Jesus looked forward. It is what those living after Him can all look back on with perfect eternal vision. Yes, the view from the cross is beautiful, because it is seen through the eyes of Jesus Who hung there for us and made everything right.

“I have placed you in a specific group of people, so that you could show them Who I really am through your life. I have empowered you with My Holy Spirit. I have given you the heart of Jesus. I have told you that I am with you wherever you go. I have told you what I love. I have assured you that I love you and will never leave you. Rejoice in who you are and who I am making you. People need you!”

Hebrews 10:14 NIV

because by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.


As you grow in Christ, you must learn to joyfully embrace a life of repentance before Him. Delight in what He is doing in you as you are shown who you are not. Understand that you are still very welcome in His presence. You are a deeply loved work in progress. Submission to the changes the Lord is making in you develops your ability to present Jesus to the world, which is your heritage and God’s original plan for your life. He knows who you are and everything you are not. Real heart changes are needed in all of us and can only take place when spending quality time with Him to know His heart, and looking to Him alone for all things.

Above all, remember that your relationship with Jesus Christ is the most astounding privilege that anyone could possibly have. You are cherished.”

“Don’t expect praise from others as you work for Me. Don’t wait for others to validate what I tell you to do. Success, as you see it, has little to do with why you are to continue functioning where you are until I give you another assignment. You are to obey. You are to stay the course I have given you. You are to listen only to My heart and wait for My plans to develop.”

Psalm 106:12-15 AMP

12Then [Israel] believed His words [trusting in, relying on them]; they sang His praise.

13But they hastily forgot His works; they did not [earnestly] wait for His plans [to develop] regarding them.

14But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted and tried to restrain God [with their insistent desires] in the desert.

15And He gave them their request, but sent leanness to their souls and [thinned their numbers by] disease and death.


We love to second-guess God. We love to use our own reasoning to further the kingdom of God. We also love to tell God when enough is enough, and that our trial should be over by now.

So often we move ahead of God and miss the best that He has for us by moments. If we had waited to make sure that it was God’s time to move instead of ours, we would have His best for us rather than mediocre success. We need to allow patience to have its perfect work.

People know My plan because of the joy that they see in you, your increasing dedication, the passion you are developing for the deeper things concerning My plan; or when you settle for a plan that is far less than I intend for them to see.

They know it when you fail desperately, but have some place to go and get relief as you come to Me. They see it when I anoint what you do and you pass the credit back to Me. They may not understand. Some may hate who you are becoming. Others may be given taste buds for more of Me. Some delight in your failures to represent Me properly.

Be assured, all notice. Each and every moment you breathe, My story goes on through you whether you live properly or you remain unmoved. I trust you to carry My story with the life that it deserves - the life of Jesus. I wait for you to understand the importance I place on how you show Him to others.”

Most of our lives we walk around representing ourselves, our employer, our parents, etc. All of a sudden, one day we give our hearts to Jesus. Our reasons rarely even resemble the proper reasons of serving God and His plans. Most of the time, they are because of our need, or the comfort of relief from sin. Little do we know that from that very moment, we become representatives of God. Because we became His, we now are the example of either the incredible life-changing power won for us at the cross of Calvary or a dull, religious practice. Once we accept Jesus, there is no turning back. No matter how we act - good, bad, or indifferent - we are telling others who He is by what we do and who we become. What an incredibly sobering thought!

“Everything I do is based on love. You need to remember that, whenever the enemy accuses you of who you are not. The idea of the cross was because of My love. Jesus spent His life because He loved you. The idea of you being with Me for eternity was My idea. I am observing your heart. I am building My love in you. For now you and I need to talk. So many times we misinterpret the ways of God toward us when we enter difficult times or when He is pruning us. During those times, the enemy attempts to confuse the issue by attempting to remove the love of our Father God from the situation.

Very simply stated, Jesus lived an exuberant, passionate life because He loved deeply and knew the truth. Everything that He did had love as its foundation, its continual motivation, and its ultimate goal. Nothing, not even death, could move Him from expressing that love to and for those around Him.

Because He was One with and knew His Father intimately, He understood the truth about the fate of mankind as a result of the fall. Because He lived with His Father in all of eternity past, He knew what separation from His Father for all eternity future really meant for those He loved and created. He felt His Father’s heartbreak because some would perish.

“If you were given a stewardship of someone’s large estate and told to disperse its many resources and vast holdings to others, how much would you keep for yourself? If none of it was yours to keep, would it not be theft if you consumed the majority of it on yourself and your own needs? Why is it any different with what I have given you? If everything is really Mine and I have prospered you, are you not simply a steward of My wealth? Should you not disperse My holdings as I wish?

Why then do you rob from Me? You keep what you have not been told is yours. Do not be fooled! I am keeping account of those I bring to you and you turn away only to use their intended provision to pad your comfort areas. In truth, My servants who have little of this world’s wealth and continue on, using only scraps from your table to do My work, are very wealthy in My eyes, while you are becoming bankrupt. Repent!”

Slowly, but surely, the area affected by these “tongues”- that’s what they were, tongues like fire - became larger and larger. Mesmerized by the combination of joy, weeping, praising and sweet abandonment, Tom didn’t realize that the fire had grown to involve those on benches directly in front of him and was sweeping in his direction.

“Unclean! Unclean! Unclean!” Tom heard himself cry out as he lay prostrate before holiness beyond description. Whether under his bench or kneeling in surrender, he did not know, but his spirit was exposed before the Creator and Lord of all mankind. Light purer than crystal and penetrating every fleshly corner, every unconfessed sin, every secret thought, sapped the strength from his being.

“Oh! Oh! Oh! How filthy! Oh! Forgive me, Lord! Oh! I can’t stand Your presence. I’ll be consumed,” he thought as the light, heat and holiness became unbearable. “Even cast me away - I am unclean - I am but dirt. Please come no closer, my Lord. I cannot stand it - You are so holy, so pure. Ohhhhh!”

The presence of God involved Tom Bracken’s every cell, separating the flesh man from the spirit man just as wax would become instantly non-existent if thrown into a raging inferno. “Please, please, come no closer,” Tom found himself screaming inside as the Living Christ in all of His splendor emerged from the flame. Radiant beyond description, clothed in the glory of the Father, and awesome in power, Jesus, the Light Himself, reached out to touch Tom.

Tom knew he would cease to exist. He understood now. He saw himself compared to the Living Christ and he now knew that if he were thrown into the pit of hell forever it would be what he deserved. He also knew, now that he had caught a glimpse of the Lord of All, that he would praise Him forever, even if he were in the torment of hell. It was all he could do, for Jesus is worthy of praise - not for any other reason than for who He is.

We have forgotten Who You really are, Lord; forgive us.

“Do you realize how much easier and more productive your life would be if you only took the time to wait on Me in prayer? If you would tarry long enough to find out My will and then move with that truth, you would avoid so many mistakes and spiritually harm fewer people. My desire is to impart to you everything you need for any given life situation.

I don’t hide Myself or My wisdom from you. You’re just not with Me long enough, resting quietly in My presence, to be able to hear Me. You’re also moving so fast each day that you can’t hear My “still, small voice” giving you directions on your daily journey. I would like you to sit quietly with Me. After you’ve talked, wait to hear what I think, how I feel, or where I want you to go. You will be surprised at how much smoother your life flows.”

Spending time with Me is the most powerful kind of warfare. There is no way to counter these weapons and the many others that I have provided for you. Stop choosing the ways of the world. Choose My ways. I always win.”

I have found no better explanation of true spiritual warfare than this example from my friend, Pastor Ron Auch.

“Many intercessors and leaders in spiritual warfare seem to think we have to some way, somehow, “deliver” a city from spiritual oppression or past evil curses in order to have the way paved for the presence of God to come into that city. However, the goal of spiritual conflict is not to usher in the presence of God by that means. Spiritual warfare is not the way to bring in the presence of God, but quite the opposite.

It is not the battle that ushers in the presence; but rather, it’s the presence that originates the battle. The presence of God is the starting point. Because of the presence of God, there will be war since the inhabitants of darkness cannot stand His presence. All of our strategies, banners, chants, and shouting “per se” will do no harm to the devil. In fact, we can be sure that the devil will help us do our “spiritual warfare” as long as we are replacing the presence of God with our own battle turmoil. I believe along with some others that the devil has been teaching the church how to do spiritual warfare! The Israelites marched around, shouted, sang, worshipped, broke pots, suddenly pulled out torches in the middle of the night, and fought battles in usual and unusual manners; but it was not the strategy or the activity that gave them victory. It was the presence of God who went before them. Without the presence, they would have been the most foolish army in history.”

“Soon, any doctrines of men will not be able to survive. All of them have one single factor that will not be able to stand true when difficult seasons are upon you. They all have self-fulfillment of some sort as their foundation, even though it is masked as serving Jesus. Many manipulate My Word to pad their comfort zones. Others provide justification to remain strong and have faith in their own faith. Still others say that they will not be touched if they speak themselves positively out of any harmful situation.

Do not be deceived. The only proper focus of your belief is Jesus. Follow His life. Emulate His desires. He held nothing as His own. He had complete disregard for His reputation, safety, and even His very life, when it meant following My will. You are in a war for the souls around you. You are in training to lay down your life for the best interests of My Word and the welfare of others. You are to glorify Jesus. Any other doctrine is another gospel. Do not be part of it.”

And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you – and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.

25For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and ruins or forfeits (loses) himself?


We are hearing of saints, who have ministered for many years, falling away because the doctrines that they have purported are not standing the test of the pressures they are experiencing at this time. Their formulas simply aren’t working anymore. They have become disenchanted, disheartened, and angry at God when He does not respond to their demands and commands and faith strategies.

“Are you prepared? Are you prepared to love deeper and care more, no matter what someone does to you? Are you prepared to give everything you have if I ask you to do so? What about forgiveness? Can you forgive those who harm you and hate you? Can you stand silent as Jesus did, with no malice in your heart, even when you are wrongfully accused? Can you love your accusers?

I am asking you to function with eternal values while you are preparing to be with Me. They are of great consequence now, because they testify of the wonder of the cross to the world. They are also of great consequence to your eternal future, for you will be judged on what you have done while you are in Jesus.”

Most of us have listened to the lie that our salvation ends with the altar call or however we came to the Lordship of Jesus. From God’s perspective, that time was only the beginning. We simply answered a wake-up call and accepted the mercy of God.

Everything after that is a working out of and growing up in the plans of God. Before we were new creatures with born again spirits, we had no clue that a life in Christ even existed. Since we have come to Him, He is able to talk to us because our inner man has become alive; and we are able to listen and respond, if we choose to do so.

Nothing can hinder Me as I move through obedient vessels, in My timing, with all My forces properly positioned.”

We hate to wait, even if it is the Lord telling us to do so. Our lives are so hectic and our perspective is so short-sighted, that waiting on the Lord for His timing and responding at His command means little to us. We see little value and wisdom in waiting, so we trudge ahead of His plans - powerless to implement His work and ineffective in what we do.

Andrew Murray stated in his book, Waiting on God: “All the exercises of the spiritual life, our reading and praying, our willing and doing, have their value. But, they can go no farther than this, that they point the way and prepare us in humility to look to and depend upon God Himself, and in patience to wait His good time and mercy. The waiting is to teach us our absolute dependence upon God’s mighty working, and to make us, in perfect patience, place ourselves at His disposal. They that wait on the Lord will inherit the land; the promised land and its blessing. The heirs must wait; they can afford to wait.”

“Some surprises are wonderful, others are not good if you are not prepared for them. Are you sure that you’re ready for the surprise that will change the world as you know it? Most of My church is not ready. Please don’t follow their example. You make yourself ready by drawing close to Me during this time of preparation.

If you notice, the distractions are becoming more prevalent. There are many more noises to sway your attention from Jesus. That is because the time is drawing near. Push aside everything that clouds your vision and quiets your hearing of My Word. Do not be lulled to sleep as many have been. Wake up. Shake yourself awake. You do not want to be surprised and left behind.”

1“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

Whenever there is talk about the rapture, controversy breaks out about doctrine and personal beliefs. Theories abound as to whether or not there is a time of calling away those who are looking for Jesus. Some believe that there is no such thing as the rapture. Others believe that there is one and everyone who accepts Jesus is taken away. Still others believe that only those who are truly waiting for Jesus and have enough oil, (sincere, sold-out hearts and proper reasons for waiting,) are taken to the marriage supper.

I am convinced that there is a time when our Lord will call for those who are thinking, acting, and loving as He would. I also believe that the time is very near.

Whether you share my beliefs matters far less than how prepared you and I are because we love Jesus. Are we ready and prepared to meet Him if He should come at any minute? If we are ready for whatever, whenever - I mean really ready for His reasons - He will be glorified no matter what happens or when it happens.

“Look back on those people who have been instrumental in your life. I want you to bless them. Bring them to Me in prayer. Pray that I might prosper them in all they do, and that they become all they can be in My eyes. Pray that they serve Jesus with all their hearts. Pray this for everyone that I bring to your mind, even those who have hurt you or despitefully used you. Ask for My mercy to come to those who have intentionally harmed you. Wait in My presence until you can be grateful for every person that you have encountered. Take your time. There is no hurry. Over time, as I heal your every wound, I will show you how all of them have a portion in who you are in Me. I will set you free.”

It’s easy to bless those who have blessed us, but every one of us has had people intentionally or unintentionally bring harm to us through their words or actions. When you live in society, it is unavoidable. How we handle those offenses is what counts. In the world, most reactions to offenses fall into the categories of retaliation, holding unforgiveness of some sort; and leaving hurtful wounds and insurmountable obstacles in the way of healthy relationships. In Christ, however, every offense, past or present, brings opportunity for our growth and healing by His power.

As I was writing this comment, and partly because of a recent conversation with some friends, I was thinking of some short phrases that have helped me place offenses in proper perspective over the years. I wish I could take credit for them, but they have all come from other people, those much wiser than I.

“Lord, flood them with the same mercy you have given me.” This has often brought things into perspective as I think of how much mercy I have asked for because of my own sin towards God and towards others. It has allowed me to remember that we are all in need of the Lord and brings home the thought that we judge others by their actions; we judge ourselves by our intentions, (another borrowed phrase.)

“Forgiveness is the ardent desire to bear the consequences of another person’s sin.” This one is a definition of the heart of Jesus. He saw our future healing and bore the weight of our sins and the sins of others because of our need. Only by His power can we understand that every sin against us gives us the opportunity to see that person’s desperate need for Jesus. By the infused sufficiency of Christ in us, we can understand that it is our privilege to hold that person up before the Lord so he or she might be healed. The act of forgiving then becomes a warfare tool against the real enemy, and an agent for healing in both the offending party and the offended.

Too often they would rather believe lies that are mere foolishness than what I have proven to be true over and over again. When I remove the ordinary and allow the supernatural to be predominant,My truth will be the only source of comfort and logic. Lies will be so prevalent that only those founded in the unmovable and eternal truth as I see it will not be taken in. When everything that is familiar falls away, only one thing will remain - My truth.”

The Word of God is absolutely true. There is no falsehood in it. Everything that is accurately said about God, the way He functions, and who He really is can be found there. You can build your eternal existence on the foundation of God’s Word. The Bible is the only book that is absolutely trustworthy. In fact, if we base any decision, choice, or determination of any kind on anything that is outside the Word of God, we are in danger. The world is passing away, but the Word of God will remain.

As things come to a close, the Bible says that lies will prevail in the world. In fact, there will be so many lies, that it will almost be impossible to know what truth is unless you have become so familiar with God’s truth that the lies are evident.

If we look around, even now, truth has become relative. Most areas in life are no longer black and white; they have melted into some kind of dull gray. In many cases, people base their life decisions on a mixture of half-truths, conjecture, traditions, and flat-out lies. It’s only going to get worse.

If we, as Christians, don’t determine in our hearts to start believing what is said in the Word of God - about Him, His promises, and His plans - as absolute, unfailing truth, we will soon find ourselves not only deceived by what is only supposedly true; but we will be incapable of leading others to the truth.

“Those around you do not understand the absolute truth of My Word. The systems that they believe in teach them shades of gray, because there is no truth in the one that they follow. Your job is to fall in love with them. Your job is to hunger for their souls. As I raise you up in the truth, you must learn to love them. Truth without compassion becomes just one more bit of knowledge to them. They are not your enemies. They simply have not heard what you have and embraced My truth. Stop trying to teach and begin to love. That’s what Jesus does. That’s what I want you to do.”

When Adam and Eve sinned, they chose to remove themselves, and subsequently all of mankind, from the authority or Fatherhood of God. They chose to join the family of the liar. Jesus said that the devil was the father of anyone who did not love Him.

Jesus died so that those who confess that He is the Christ and believe that He is alive will be saved. God then becomes their Father and they desire His truth. They are born into the new nature that can hear the Words of God and understand them.

Our job, then, is not to try to convince anyone that our way is right by presenting our doctrines or moral ways of living. They can’t hear us any more than they could hear Jesus. Our job is to show them Jesus, so that they can embrace Him and choose His family and His Father. We are to surrender fully to Jesus so that we become like Him. We will then be able to live His life in their presence, so that they can learn to love Him.

Jesus, be Lord over every area of my life. I want others to see You in me,

“Have you noticed that things are changing very rapidly around you, just like I said they would in the end times? Have you noticed that your heart is longing more and more to be like My Son Jesus as each day progresses? I said that would happen also. Your awareness of just these two things sets you far ahead of most of the world and many of My children. Don’t put aside all of the coming events as coincidence. Everything is going as planned for your generation.

You seek Me with all your heart. I will give you wisdom for the coming times. I will let you in on the things that I deem important during these times. You will not be caught unaware when birth pangs increase if you seek Me with all your heart. When others falter because of fear, you will be able to move with confidence because you will know that I am with you.”

21My son, let them not escape from your sight, but keep sound and godly Wisdom and discretion,

22And they will be life to your inner self, and a gracious ornament to your neck (your outer self).

23Then you will walk in your way securely and in confident trust, and you shall not dash your foot or stumble.

24When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.

25Be not afraid of sudden terror and panic, nor of the stormy blast or the storm and ruin of the wicked when it comes [for you will be guiltless],

26For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].

So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?


What an incredible privilege we have as believers! Just think! The ruler of everything - the One who knows the beginning from the end - is willing to share with us all we need to know for any circumstance in our lives. He has our best interests at heart. When the world will be bug-eyed, drooling at the mouth with fear, we will be able to have real answers for their questions. We will also be able to tell them about the One who is the answer, Jesus Christ. Boy, it’s good to be part of this godly family, isn’t it?
