“If only you could understand the cost of your salvation. You would never doubt My love again. You would understand the heart that Jesus had as He walked among those He had created. He knew that some of them would crucify Him in the near future. He wept, not because of what they were going to do; but because they were capable of doing it.

His love caused Him to think more about the sin in which Adam and Eve had condemned mankind to function, than about His own pain. He saw that you were helpless and so much in need of His help. He helped you the best way that He could. He gave everything for your nothing!”

Matthew 14:14 NIV

When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

Matthew 26: 53-54 NIV

53“Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

54But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

I am convinced that I probably would have been one of those who yelled, “Crucify Him,” if I had been there that day. I would’ve wanted to kill that liar. He made believe that He was God and I believed Him. Now everyone else saw through Him. God would not allow Himself to be placed in the position Jesus was in now. Look at Him, bloody, beaten, looking like a fool. Because I could only walk in the flesh, I believe that I would have hated Him at that moment for wasting my time and making me vulnerable! I wouldn’t have been able to believe that He was making a way for me to see clearly.

Forgive me, Lord,

“Do you know that a great number of the problems in this world manifest themselves because of the burdensome weight of sin? Sin upon unconfessed sin is a ruthless task master. All other issues and actions are tainted, all perspectives are darkened when sin rules a heart. No relief from that heavy weight of sin causes relationships to crumble, nations to war, and eventual death to any form of mercy and grace, either received or given.

Jesus died to relieve the world of the need to carry the weight of sin. Anyone who acknowledges Him and the work of the cross has a new life, a clean slate, and the prospect of a sinless future. With the freedom imparted when you are forgiven, there is also a wonderful power placed in you. It is the power to forgive those who sin against you. Those who have gone before you forgave those who laughed, as their children were eaten by mastiffs and lions. They forgave when their loved ones were crucified or impaled. They forgave those who took their lives - dying with unblemished hearts. They truly overcame the world and its love of sin. I require the same kind of forgiveness from you before you can become totally free.

I see the foolishness of holding unforgiveness in your heart for the smallest violation of your precious ego. I see you burden others for the sin that you daily embrace. I see your life destroyed in exchange for your need to harbor and protect your right to hold someone’s sin against him or her. You are not free because you will not free others from their offenses. You are foolish; you are deceived; you are in bondage to the world. If I held you accountable for all of your sin, you would not be able to bear up under its weight.

I forgave you; now you forgive everyone. Start with those who sin against you now. Prepare to forgive those who might some day kill you.”

Matt. 6:12, 14-15 AMP

12And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors.

14For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

15But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.

I Cor. 13:5b AMP

Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

Col. 3:13 AMP

Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive].

I Pet. 4:8 AMP

Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others].

Merry and I once lived near a man who was totally crippled because of unforgiveness. To be with him was like standing next to a dark hole that sucked every joy from your entire being. There was no light in him.

If you should happen to be accepted by him for a season, it was just a matter of time before he separated himself from you because of some perceived injustice you had done to him. Once that happened, he then was a ruthless enemy to you and everyone you held dear. He held your offense against you forever with no hope of reprieve.

The fascinating thing is that at one time he was a smiling, happy person - very amiable and joyful to be around. He was well-liked and a friend to many. Upon investigation through talking to those who knew him, there seemed to be a specific time when he changed. It occurred whenever he was offended by someone, usually a family member. It made no difference whether or not the offense was real or simply something he perceived to be an offense.

Of course, there was no communication on his part to express how he felt, so most of the time the people around him wouldn’t know of their offense until he stopped talking to them. To him, the offense was so great that he closed his heart to any kind of compassion toward others.

Every relationship then became an opportunity for him to repay the injustice done against him by holding that injustice over the other party. Now unforgiveness ruled his entire being. He was totally crippled in mind and daily becoming crippled in body. The weight of his sin - the habit of unforgiveness, now a way of life for him - was in fact causing him to deteriorate.

Unforgiveness in the hearts of His children is not tolerated by the Lord. He is a formidable foe to anyone who harbors it and does not want any of His children to hold onto it, because it causes separation from Him as well as others. If your life is out of order, examine the black pit of holding anyone’s offense against you in your heart. Forgive, forgive, forgive. You will be set free, free, free!

Remember: If you will not forgive, you are standing in judgment. If you choose to forgive, you are extending mercy. The choice is yours. It is of eternal significance.

Needing desperately what I am required to give out!

“Prepare, prepare, prepare. Prepare for a time when things as you know them will no longer exist. Prepare for seasons when you will need to call upon Me and then make sure that it is Me that you hear, rather than the enemy of fear and confusion. Prepare for situations where people, ignorant of My ways, desperately need answers and are asking you for them. It is time to stop playing games. It is time for those who know Me, to now also know how to use what I have provided for them.

From this date forward, be ready for anything that may come your way. Herald the call, talk to your friends, forgive your enemies. Make things right between you and anybody. Clean house and make sure all is in order. Children, prepare your hearts. Receive My love for you. Walk with purpose, for the time is near when I will need you to be a representation of My Son. Everything else will soon pass away.”

Psalm 24:7-10 NIV

7Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in.

8Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

9Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

10Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty - he is the King of glory.

1 Timothy 1:16-17 NIV

16But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Jesus Christ might display His unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.

17Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever, Amen.

Boy! I wish that I could always send sweet, lovely, fun kinds of messages. It seems that that is not always going to happen. For those of you who have been receiving these messages for a season, you know that we have seen the many sides of our Father during that time. The messages have had a range that has allowed all of us to “drink some milk” between the “meat” messages. That has been very freeing, and frankly quite wonderful - for me, at least.

At certain times, however, I have had to just sit quietly after writing and sending them to you. I have had to realize deep within my heart that, fact is, our Father is God with a “big G.” This is not a game. He is an absolute, unchangeable Creator and Lord, worthy of all our service. Also, He is our best friend, caring for us more than we could ever imagine. His love for us is beyond our deepest comprehension.

There was something worthy of note with this particular message. As I was praying, it seemed to me that, in the spiritual realm, a page was turning; and a new season was at hand. If before this day, Jesus, as our guide, had been taking us down a hallway toward a room, explaining all the way what we should do once we get there; now, we have just arrived at the room. What He had been explaining before was about to be needed, soon after we step through the doorway.

I’m not saying that peril is necessarily within hours or days, or even years, for with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day; but if you are archiving these messages, I believe that this one is worthy of note. Bookmark it in some way and by all means take to heart what has been said.

Sensing a new urgency,

“Because of the changes taking place all around you, most of you will soon be out of your comfort zone. You will need to rely upon what you have learned about Me up until that time. You will need to call upon your knowledge of who I am and what I consider to be valuable. That is why you have been in such rigorous training. I have placed you in continuously intensifying situations to train you and make you strong in preparation for the coming time.

Most of you have responded favorably. You have learned to turn to Me and Me alone in your need. You have understood My desire that none should perish, and work toward that end as your priority each day. Your own needs and desires have decreasing value as you take on the values of Jesus. You are continually submitting to the finished work of the cross as your only source for life. I am very proud of you. I can trust you with much. I will be able to send you into circumstances with special needs, knowing that you will represent Me properly.

Some of you have found it difficult to submit fully to the training in which I have placed you. You are still struggling with the idea that you need to be shaken from the former, foolish, self-serving beliefs that you have held all these years. You are beginning to see, however, that your positive confessions, prosperity demands, and fist clenching aggressions will not hold up under the extreme situations you may soon face. I am grateful for your teachable heart, your desire for truth, and your willingness to leave behind immature beliefs. As you submit to the truth of My Word, I will build the necessary faith in you to trust Me with everything. You will see prosperity as I see it. You will understand the overwhelming power behind a crucified life. Study the life that Jesus lived. Keep your heart open to My Word. You can still be useful to My work if you submit to My truth.

Others of you will need to turn your hearts toward Me and My desires before I can trust you to do My will when faced with open aggressions, critical dilemmas, and life-threatening challenges that will come your way. You will need to either submit to My hand of training upon you, or you will be passed by when I need to call upon someone I can trust. I am willing to work with you as long as you have a teachable heart. Do not harden your heart to My training. Come to Me now while there is still time for you to learn of My ways. I am waiting.”

Ps. 86:11 AMP

Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk and live in Your truth; direct and unite my heart [solely, reverently] to fear and honor Your name.

John 4:34 NIV

”My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”

II Cor. 5:18, 20a AMP

18But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].

20aSo we are Christ’s ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us.

The true heroes of the Bible had a common characteristic that is little recognized as a warrior’s heart and an unbeatable weapon in the face of danger. Their lives were not their own. Sometime before they were called upon to display this Christ-following character - whether they lived during Old or New Testament times - they had an understanding of the heart of God’s ways and gave their lives fully to His use and service, no matter what the cost.

The true church of Jesus Christ fully recognizes the work that is being done in open, teachable hearts. It is a work of unquestionable submission to the cross and the kind of life it represents. It is the crucified heart that beats in unison with its Lord as a prepared bride, waiting for the wondrous moment of meeting her Groom.

As always, the enemy counterfeits a move of God to sidetrack its importance - in this case, the heart of full submission and sacrificial giving. He calls upon those who follow his plan to seek physical martyrdom for some sort of eternal gain, denying the eternal gain achieved at the cross. The suicide tactics displayed in today’s world show that distorted and misdirected zeal. The enemy’s followers lay their lives down sacrificially in order to do harm to others and for their own gain. Jesus laid His life down for the benefit of others.

God is calling His people to return to the heart that led Jesus to the cross. Obviously He in no way condones purposeful, planned, physical death; but He does require the setting aside of our own desires, replacing them with His desires - a death to our fleshly, carnal nature, which is accomplished in the spiritual realm. The degree to which we submit to God’s will - at the expense of our own – is the degree to which God will be able to trust and use us.

Wanting to submit fully to the ways of Jesus,

“Do you realize that every time you’ve failed Me is forgotten, if you have confessed it to Me? It is no longer on any register that I own. Why then do you hold on to it, as if Jesus never paid the price for that freedom? You see your failures and look past My desire to have you become all that you can be in Jesus. I am never against you. I will never give up on you. My promises have destroyed your stony heart and replaced it with a heart that is manageable, one that eventually will fully serve Me.

Look beyond what you are at present. I see who I have formed you to be and you are moving in that direction, each time you submit who you are not to the Lordship of Jesus. Bathe yourself in My mercy as I complete My work in you. Repent of who you are not. Accept My forgiveness. Let’s walk in fellowship. I love you.”

Psalm 55:22 AMP

Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Prov. 28:14 AMP

Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is the man who reverently and worshipfully fears [the Lord] at all times [regardless of the circumstances], but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

Eph 4:12-13 AMP

12His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ’s body (the church),

13[That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ’s own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.

Hebrews 13:5b AMP

…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

Because of these messages, Merry and I receive communications from many parts of the U.S. and countries around the world. We hear from many dear children of God who are basking in the love of their Father God and walking in the freedom that has been provided at the cross for them.

At times, however, we receive disheartening correspondence from believers who feel that they have failed God once too often, or are convinced that they have never and will never live up to the standards God has set for them. They vigorously point out their failures and the results of their lives that signify to them that God is angry at them or has forsaken them.

Nothing could be further from the truth of His Word. It is because of who we are not that Jesus died. It is because of our failures that God provided forgiveness through the cross of Jesus Christ. It is because of who we can never be in our own strength that we need a Savior and Lord. Jesus is His Name. Because of what He has done, we can walk in the forgiveness of God as often as we need to do so. What a glorious, wonderful Father God - Who loves us enough to have continual mercy on us each and every time we ask for it!

Thank You, Lord,

Jim Corbett

“As your true Father, I observe you with unfailing love. I watch your comings and your goings, and monitor your life so that you do not wander too far.

As I watch you, I am continually blessed to be your Father. You honor Me as you represent Jesus properly. You honor other members of your family, when you consider them with the same heart that He does. You bring joy to all of Us, as you are mindful of those who hurt and are in need.

When your perspectives become clouded, I make sure that you regain your focus. I direct you to the proper path, and bring you back to right thinking through many ways. I know that some of them are uncomfortable, but they are necessary.

You see, I desire that you grow up bright and strong in the knowledge of Who I am, who you are, and who you represent. We are family, Father and children.”

II Sam. 14:14b NIV

“But God does not take away life; instead, he devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from him.”

John 1:10-14 NIV

10He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.

11He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God -

13children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14The Word became flesh and lived for a while among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Eph. 3:17-19 AMP

17May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,

18That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];

19[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!”

When we really understand how important the concept of family is to God, it’s no wonder Satan has worked so hard to destroy it. We have become so used to the modern family that the concepts of a loving, available father, and devoted, parent-honoring children; and the incredible power of a unified, selfless effort toward common goals elude us as part of the family unit. We have lost our purpose because we have missed the plan of God concerning His way of letting us know, first, that we belong to something bigger than ourselves; and then, second, why we belong.

Because we are in Christ, we are born into an eternal family under a gracious, loving Father. We belong to a God-ordained unit, flowing in love toward Him and each other. At least that is the way our Father desires it.

Help me, Lord,

“I want you to think of the hardest heart that you personally know, someone who has harmed you. I want you to devote your day to pray for him or her. Present him or her to Me every time he or she comes to mind.

Two things will happen. You will find out where your heart is toward that person - whether you are able to care as Jesus cares - and you will be reminded of how much I really care for those who curse Me.”

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

8“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

9“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Matthew 5:13 AMP

You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality) how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men.

Luke 6:41-46 NIV

41“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

42How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

43“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.

44Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers.

45The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

46“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

What an incredible concept: to have the Lord take a whole day of my life to pray for someone who will never know, and probably never care, about what I have done for him/her.

“Be careful not to become complacent. If things seem to be quiet all around you, even for a moment, make sure you remain diligent. Continue in prayer. Continue in the mission to which I have called you. Pray for those involved with you.

The enemy never sleeps. His methods are insidious. You are in a battle. Do not allow yourself to be deemed ineffective because you fell asleep when everything seemed to indicate that the battle was over.”

II Cor. 10:3-5 AMP

3For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.

4For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds.

5[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

The battle for souls will continue until the last soul that will come has surrendered to Jesus. There is never a time that we are called to sit on the sidelines and do nothing. We are continually in the front lines whether it feels like it or not.

If you do not have a desire for anyone and everyone that you meet to know Jesus, you are not aware of your continuous mission. Maybe it’s time to rekindle the fire that is intended for you. Maybe the Lord needs to change your focus.

Never allow me to become complacent, Lord,

“When are you going to take stock in the fact that your world is changing with alarming speed? When will you acknowledge that you are seeing Words that were said long ago being fulfilled in your day, during your lifetime?

You are the end-time generation. You are the highly-called ones, who have a mandate to gather all the real wisdom of the ages; and present it so that those who have ears to hear can make a proper decision. You are the only generation that is capable of looking back through the corridors of time to actually see how easily everything can come to pass with what is readily at hand.

Do not shrug off all that you have the privilege of seeing as inconsequential. You must open your heart to the fact that you are a player in the unfolding of My plan. Stop thinking about worldly cares and begin to think in terms of eternity. You must make changes in your way of thinking, so that you can take the steps necessary to fulfill your part in what I will call you to do.

The way of life that you have had for so many years is coming to a close. You must prepare for what is about to happen, using the wisdom that I give you as you seek Me with all your heart. I must be your priority. No other priority will suffice during the coming times.”

Esther 4:14b AMP

And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?

Isa. 48:3 NIV

“I foretold the former things log ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.”

Matthew 24:3-8 NIV

3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

4Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.

5For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.

6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

8All these are the beginning of birth pains.”

One of the lines in a movie called “The Horse Whisperer” goes something like this. “Knowing it is the easy part; saying it out loud is the hard part.” It was said to a character in the movie, so that the person might face what was obvious with enough conviction to take decisive action.

For years, many knowledgeable people within the church have been saying that we are living in the end times. I whole-heartedly agree with them. Whether that is true or not, however, should have little to do with how we live our lives. Our lives should be the example of the life of Jesus so that others can see who He is by the life we live, no matter what season we live in. That is the way we are told to live throughout the new covenant.

Because we, as a people, have gravitated so far from the plumb line of the life of Jesus as our model for living, there are some decisions that need to be made if time is as short as it appears to be. Even if the seasons do not proclaim the very end, one must admit that something quite radical is happening all around us, calling for measures to be taken simply to adapt to the tumultuous conditions of our world and present Jesus properly.

The problem, however, is getting what we see as obvious past the thinking stages of our brain and into the action stages. It’s the “saying it out loud” part with which we seem to be having difficulty. We all know that our world is drastically different than it was even a year ago. We all know that even the world at present could change in a moment. Why do we do so little to prepare for what seems to be imminent? I don’t mean that we should stock up on food, clothing, and water so that we can tuck away in a cave for our protection. That would be the typical carnal, selfish response and have little to do with the calling on our lives.

When will we say out loud that we are living in a time that requires us to represent Jesus properly? When will we say it out loud and then be determined to do enough about it to make a difference, honoring God with our lives as we promised Him we would?

Needing to clear my throat, so that I am heard clearly when I say it out loud,

“What is your part in My plan? Do you even know? I’m not talking about how much you go to church, or how much is required of you to maintain your lifestyle. I am asking you if you really have spent enough time with Me to know why I have called you into being.

What is the purpose for your life? In the seasons ahead, those in the world will have to adapt themselves to the changing times. They will have to modify their direction, and rethink their lifestyles to adapt to the dictates of their circumstances. Many of their hearts will fail them because of fear. What they have valued and coveted as their god will have vanished. All the times they worshipped and served that god will have been in vain and absolutely fruitless. There will be no evidence of their life’s work.

Will you be the same? Will there be a need for what you do in the near future? If there is not, what will you do? How will you respond to the changes that take place? How will you bear up under the pressure? Better still, will you prosper because you flow easily from what is viable at present, directly into what is needed at that time?

Have you sought out your anointing and are you honing your gifts, so that they are sharp and fruitful when you are called upon to use them? Do you have the souls of people constantly in mind now and are you actively doing something about them? Do you care about the needs of others at present? Do you care about the calling that I have for you, or are you so caught up in your own needs that you can’t even take time to find out what that calling is?

What if I needed you tomorrow and allowed your world to change overnight? Will you be able to hear my directions, or will you be cowering in fear just as the world will be? You need to be in training and listen even now. Flow in My anointing now, so that you will be ready then.”

Ps. 31:15 AMP

My times are in Your hands; deliver me from the hands of my foes and those who pursue me and persecute me.

Isa. 55:6, 8-9, 11 AMP

6Seek, inquire for, and require the Lord while He may be found [claiming Him by necessity and by right]; call upon Him while He is near.

8For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord.

9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

11So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Jer. 29:11-13 NIV

11“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

12Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Acts 8:1b, 4 NIV

1bOn that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

4Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.

Have you ever tolerated one of those comedy shows where one of the main characters is placed in a position for which he is not qualified? When called upon to function in that position, he flounders, flubs, and generally goofs everything up, all accompanied by canned hysterical laughter. By the end of the show, however, everything works out. Those who are hurt by his foolishness are nowhere to be found, and all is well. We’re ready to go on to the next plot in next week’s show.

We are Christians. We have taken the Name of our Savior; and, in essence, we have promised our Lord that we would represent Him properly in our world. Someday, possibly someday soon, we are going to be called upon to act as Jesus would act in possibly very dire circumstances. How will we fare? Will we flounder through the situation with the same kind of recklessness as the character in the sit-com, because we haven’t submitted to the required training and have no idea what He would do?

We have a problem if that is a possibility in our lives. The problem is that no one will be laughing when we cower in fear along with those of the world. There will be no happy ending for those who did not hear the gospel of salvation, because we could not tell them how Jesus could be found amidst the hatred and murder in the world. There will be no “show” next week for the person who perishes before seeing Jesus in us and wanting Him, because of the way you and I conduct ourselves. There will be no good way to explain His power to overcome anything, when we don’t experience it in our own lives. Things won’t work out for the best for those who are counting on us to help them, if we can’t give them what is required. His Name is Jesus and we are in training to be like Him - for the good of others, and the glory of God. Maybe it is best that we make it our priority to get on with it.

Needing to submit to the training now, so that others can benefit then,

“I spoke and the worlds were formed. By My will, everything remains in existence. I am the Righteous Judge. I am Almighty God. There is no other. With everything that I Am, with everything that I have done, because of what Jesus has done for you, I invite you to such intimacy that you may call Me ABBA. You may come as close to Me as you desire. In fact, I often wait for you.”

Gen. 1:31 NIV

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

Psalm 46:10 NIV

“Be still, and know that I am God...”

Psalm 111:2 NIV

Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them.

Psalm 119:89 NIV

Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.

Psalm 119:160 NIV

All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.

John 14:13-14 AMP

13And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.

14[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM].

Ephesians 1:17-19a NIV

17I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you may know Him better.

18I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints/p>

19aand his incomparably great power for us who believe…

Heb. 4:16 NIV

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Our relationship with God through Jesus is, above and beyond anything else, a wondrous love story between an omnipotent Father God and His precious children. It is the foundation of all of history, the focal point of all past and future generations; and the promise that we have for eternal well-being. No other biography in all of time is packed with more adventure, intrigue, danger, excitement, and moment-by-moment thrills.

If you were to take all of the imaginations of mankind, all of the wealth, knowledge, and power of all of the men and women that have ever lived and combine them, multiplied by one million to the millionth power, it would not compare to the wonder of one moment of God in His ordinary (for Him) daily activities and interactions with us. With all that our Father God is and has and has done, His heart has favor toward the opportunity He created for those He formed from the ground of the earth to be in association with Him.

This love association is an unparalleled drama that has overwhelmed the mind of the scholar, disgusted the heart of the bigot, softened the heart of the needy, and filled to overflowing the heart of the child. In all of the wonder that is our God, the most amazing aspect, which has baffled mankind throughout his time in existence, is the well-put phrase in the Book of Psalms, “Who is man that you are mindful of him?”

To grasp the concept that our Father God is the originator of all life is more than enough for most scholars; but to understand that He loves us deeper than we could ever know and that His focus is on our existence for this time in creation is the most difficult truth to understand. It is beyond our scope of thinking. It must be received by the faith in your heart that He really means what He says, if you are ever to grow closer to Him./p>

How can I ever thank You, Lord?

“Cherish what is held in high esteem by Jesus. Freely give away what you own of Me. Get rid of whatever owns you. Establish truth in every area of your life. Hold close whatever lines up with My Word. Be a good friend. Rejoice! Live your life for the sake of others. You are Mine. I make you valuable in a world of no real values.”

Gen. 1:27-28a AMP

27So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.

28aAnd God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]…

Matt. 6:24 AMP

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in).

John 13:34-35 AMP

34I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another.

35By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves].

Rom. 8:15-16 AMP

15For (the Spirit which) you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!

16The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.

You are valuable! The Holy Spirit of God has placed value on you and in you. God considers you so valuable that He wants to spend eternity with you.

Now that you are His, He has a vessel through which He can show His heart, His love, and all of His principles. He can literally walk on the earth once again, because the Spirit of Jesus resides in you if you’ve given your life to Him. He can reach out His hands, speak His Words, and show His mercy through those who formerly rejected Him in one way or another. You are not only valuable to Him; you are valuable to His work. Your life is useful and desperately needed if only you respond for Him to the needs around you.

Let me see with Your eyes, Lord,

“Do you realize how much I cherish those around you? I love them as much as I love you. Some are already Mine. Others are being given chances to see Jesus in action through you. Make sure that you love them. Make sure that you become aware of their needs and give those needs as much credence as you give your own.

Devote your life to them as Jesus did. They are at the center of My heart just as you are. Hold them close for Me. Show them My love. Show them Who Jesus is by showing them who you have become because of Him.”

1 Cor. 11:1 NIV

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

2 Cor. 5:20a NIV

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

I John 3:16-18 AMP

16By this we come to know (progressively to recognize, to perceive, to understand) the [essential] love: that He laid down His [own] life for us; and we ought to lay [our] lives down for [those who are our] brothers [in Him].

17But if anyone has this world’s goods (resources for sustaining life) and sees his brother and fellow believer in need, yet closes his heart of compassion against him, how can the love of God live and remain in him?

18Little children, let us not love [merely] in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth (in practice and in sincerity).

Some people, who come into your life, you will be able to embrace. Others, you won’t. Some will embrace you. Others will cheat you. Most will tolerate who you are. A few will love you. All those who come into your life are brought to you by the Lord, so that they can see who Jesus is, process what they see; and decide if they want to know more about Him. How well are you representing Him to your world?

Help me, Lord,

“What is yours that I haven’t given you? For that matter, what have you claimed ownership of that is Mine? I am deeply concerned over your heart attitude of ownership and what you have claimed to be yours, using it to pad your comfort areas when I have planned to use it for My work.

You return small portions of what I have called you to be a steward of and believe that I haven’t noticed. You even have the nerve to justify your folly and choose to be blind to those I send to you for help, saying in your heart that you have done enough.

It’s time for you to look around! What are you claiming to be yours that you do not own? What do you have in your hand that I have intended for My work? How much of what you claim as yours have I really allowed you to keep? How do you justify your selfishness when My workers cannot use what I have intended for them?

You have held up My blessing for them and for you. I am asking you this day for an accounting. Come to Me with your answer.”

Ps. 24:1 NIV

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;

Ps.106:12-15 AMP

12Then [Israel] believed His words [trusting in, relying on them]; they sang His praise.

13But they hastily forgot His works; they did not [earnestly] wait for His plans [to develop] regarding them,

14But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted and tried to restrain God [with their insistent desires] in the desert.

15And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their souls…

Proverbs 29:21 AMP

He who pampers his servant from childhood will have him expecting the rights of a son afterward.

Jeremiah 2:13 NIV

“My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”

Hosea 13:6 NIV

“When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot me.”

Stewardship of any kind is a very delicate subject to those who have selfish hearts. It is a delightful conversation to those who fully understand God’s principles and have only His desires in their hearts.

Make us all aware of Your ways once again, Lord,

“Have you noticed the hardness of heart in some of My children? Have you missed the joy they once had? Do you see the unrest settling in My church as they begin to trust the world’s ways for their security? So many are working harder to get ahead, when I am calling them to spend time with Me. So many are working for the things they have purchased to calm their unrest.

In their attempt to buy possessions to give them happiness, they have substituted a false god for their provision. That god has never really met their needs and is powerless as things become darker. The god they looked to has now become the god that has no answer. Everything they purchased from him to satisfy their foolish needs are now the overwhelming burdens for which they must pay.

Make no mistake - I am God. Serve no other gods. Turn back to Me with all of your hearts and I will give you true rest. Turn completely to Me and I will give purpose to your life.”

Joshua 24:15 NIV

“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Psalm 25:12-14 NIV

12Who, then, is the man that fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

13He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.

14The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.

Prov. 28:14 AMP

Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is the man who reverently and worshipfully fears [the Lord] at all times [regardless of the circumstances], but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

Matthew 5:13 AMP

You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality) how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.

As the purifying of the children of God intensifies, those who say that they love Jesus - but really only love themselves and the world - become distinguished by their actions. True motives for living are revealed as trials and challenges are placed in their lives. As sad as it is to see and as horrible as the prospects are for these selfish hearts, it brings great opportunity to function as Jesus would in their midst. We can learn to care as He did for their souls. We can be an example of inspired living in a dark world. We can show confidence in a Father Who is all and everything that’s ever needed.

The life you and I live is important to God, to us, and to others. It is important to God, because we are placed as His presence in a dark world, as the life of Jesus flows through us to those who need to see Him. Our lives are important to us, because we have found the answer to life in Jesus Christ and are aligning our hearts continually with His heart, as we walk with purpose through our days in service to the Lord. Our lives are important to others, because God can use our Christ-centered lives to show them His unconditional love, address their needs, and share His plan of redemption and reconciliation. Hopefully, they too will be drawn into their own relationship with Him.

Teach me to not waste a minute of my life, Lord,

“What are your passions? For that matter, are you passionate about anything? I have formed your new heart to burn with zeal for the things that are true and real, just as My heart does. What happened to you? Why have you become so complacent about the things that really matter? I am not asking you to engage in causes.

Jesus never did that. He did, however, get deeply involved. I desire that you study His heart. What was He passionate about? What was so important to Him that He, the Lord of all, became deeply involved? He understood your needs and died for them. Find some of those same needs in others and get involved. Begin to really care again.”

Matthew 16:24-25 AMP

24Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also].

25For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting].

Romans 12:9-21 AMP

9[Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); hate what is evil [loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness], but hold fast to that which is good.

10Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another.

11Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.

12Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer.

13Contribute to the needs of God's people [sharing in the necessities of the saints]; pursue the practice of hospitality.

14Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them.

15Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others' joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others' grief].

16Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits.

17Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone.

18If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

19Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God's] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord.

20But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head.

21Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome (master) evil with good.

Yah! OK! That loving others stuff again. I wanna do really big stuff for Jesus and hang with others who do the same. I want a great ministry. I want people to really see Jesus in me by the way that I heal people in a big auditorium or in the middle of a crowd; you know, someplace where they have a chance to really get the picture of who He really is. This laying down my life for others or loving deeply stuff is for those without a heavy anointing. Anybody can do that. I wanna really get involved, ya know? I wanna see power!

Forgive us, Lord,

“Wait! Stand just a little longer! Soon I will move on your behalf. You will see how I have answered your prayers to Me. It is My delight to give you what is best for you. Look through what is visible at first and rejoice as your answer unfolds.”

Psalm 111:2 NIV

Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Isaiah 66:9 AMP

Shall I bring to the [moment of] birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God.

Matthew 10:29-31 NIV

29“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.

30And even the very hairs on your head are all numbered.

31So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

Sometimes we don’t recognize answered prayer when it comes. More of the character of Jesus is the best answer we can ever receive. It is the gift that compounds itself - straightening our path, meeting many needs; and even modifying our future prayers and petitions as we properly respond to His heart working in us.

True crucifixion means that a death must happen. We are called to be dead in Christ, so that His life can be lived through each of us. The hardest thing about being dead in Christ is lying on the slab as if dead until He calls us forth. [or answers our prayers] (Statement in brackets added for this study.)

Most of us, instead of patiently waiting for the Lord to intervene in our lives, get up off the slab, pace around the tomb, kick at the stone; and yell at God to roll away the stone because we feel we’ve been there long enough. When our patience wears out, we take a pry bar, move the stone ourselves (doing whatever we can do in our own strength to get us out of our pressure situation,) and go forth in very much the same manner as we did before - powerless, fully alive to our own strength, and “lean of soul” in the work of the Lord. We have no real power to give others, because we have not allowed Christ’s power to be formed in us.

Give me the patience to wait for You to answer, Lord,

“How do you feel when people you love violate every trust you’ve given them, break every promise they’ve made to you; and choose to be friends with those who desire to harm you? What if they never defend you, even if they call you their friend? What would you do to those people?

Well, I choose to love you, forgive you; and continue to invest all that I am in you. I will never give up on you! I have purchased you with a great price and I call you My friend forever.”

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

8“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

9“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Romans 2:4 NIV

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance?

It is so very easy to observe the behavior of others and miss our own foolishness. In the beginning of this Father’s Heart, most of us would have empathy with the Lord as He asks us the questions above. When we discover that we are doing the very same offenses against Him that we surely wouldn’t want done against us, it becomes a much different story.

To top it off, we also find that while we were offending Him, He was pouring grace and mercy our way. That should bring all but the hardest heart to a life change of repentance. It should make even the coldest attitude do an about face. Did it make you choose to change any of your ways?

Break my heart, Lord,

“The brightness of the light you exhibit to your world is directly dependent on the depth of your intimacy with Me. I don’t mean the flashy, impressive-talking kind of religious light that carries many shadows. I mean the world-changing, eternity-impacting, Christ-representing kind of light that changes lives. That kind only comes from being with Me enough to be able to take what I give you and share it with others, without it having lost any of its effectiveness.

When We are together, I give you Myself. When you are interacting with those around you, how much of My presence you are able to share depends on how much or little there is of you - how much there is of you that has not been given over to Jesus. Come to Me for real life, not for things. I will use you to affect your world.”

John 6:57 AMP

Just as the living Father sent Me and I live by (through, because of) the Father, even so whoever continues to feed on Me [whoever takes Me for his food and is nourished by Me] shall [in his turn] live through and because of Me.

Gal. 2:20 AMP

I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

1 Cor. 6:19b, 20 NIV

19b…You are not your own;

20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Christ wrote His life into ours when He died on the cross. We have the privilege of sharing that life with others; in fact, it’s our life’s work if we choose to accept it.

It fascinates me how much we misinterpret the way we are to show Jesus to the world. We study books, go to meetings, pray for things; and do many activities that look and sound as if we are spiritual. We fail, however, to take the path that has been laid out for us - the path of being intimate with God.

At the time of Jesus’ death, the veil to God’s presence was torn in two pieces, giving us complete access to the Almighty. Foolishly, few of us walk through that opening often enough to take His real presence to others, which we have been given the honor of doing.

Help me wear out that path, Lord,

Jim Corbett

“It is My desire that you cease to exist as you once were, so that Christ can live His life through you. You have been made new in Christ. Your old nature has no place in My kingdom. It must pass away in the same way that everything not created in Christ will pass away.

As a new creation, you have been formed for an eternal relationship with Me. Stop serving what is dying. Submit to the work of the cross. Allow My Holy Spirit to complete that work in you. He will bring forth true life!”

1 Cor. 15:50 NIV

I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

2 Cor. 1:8-10 NIV

8We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.

9Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.

10He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us…

2 Cor. 3:18 AMP

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

2 Cor. 5:17 AMP

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ, (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

Jesus was brought into a world so perilous that children were killed at the whimsical edict of an evil king, crucifixions were as commonplace as morning walks, and people were held in slavery to ignorant teachers and foolish guides, yet He was absolutely fearless. His passionate love, His intimacy with His Father, and His zeal for imparting truth made Him “Teflon” in a world seething with infectious evil and eternal danger. His presence in any society was a gift of love from His Father God. We are in training to be the same kind of gift to those around us wherever our Father sends us.

Thank You for the gift of Jesus, so that I may be a gift to others, Lord,

“You need to understand whom I consider successful. Look in My Word. I came against the proud and exposed the haughty. Observe the life of Jesus. His humble presence frightened those who thought they had My heart figured out. I did things My way and confounded those who thought they were wise. They lost control. Most of My really successful people died in the arenas, lost their possessions for My sake, and touched others from prison.

Those who would not be taught My ways judged those who were walking in them. It is the same today. Soon, however, that will change. I am raising up a holy bride in the midst of My church. She will not look successful in the eyes of most of those around her, but she will look and act like those who were successful before her. She will look and act like Jesus, while looking and waiting for Him.”

Isaiah 48:3 NIV

“I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.”

Amos 3:3 KJV

Can two walk together except they be agreed?

1 John 2:6 AMP

Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

If you are in remnant, bridal training, more than likely you will be on the perimeter of most church activities for two reasons. One, you don’t want to be part of the foolishness that goes on in the Name of Jesus; and two, those involved in it want to have little to do with you.

Even though it seems that taking a strong stand for Jesus, striving to be more like Him as your priority in life, and living a crucified life is a little thing; it is not little in the eyes of the Lord. You are in training. You are being prepared. Every word that is said against you, every action that is used to ridicule your sincerity, actually strengthens your resolve and refines your walk if you allow it to do so.

Jesus will not align Himself with a whorish heart - one that gets satisfaction from anything other than Him. The successful Christian does not have an easy road. It is strewn with challenges and hardships. The road, however, is the road to bridal purity. It is the road to the heart of Jesus.

Wanting to walk the right road,

“If you will step out in faith, I will meet you in your every need. I will never leave you or forsake you.

There may be times when it appears as if I have forgotten you, but that will never happen. I may have you in a place of training. I may be building your faith. I may be working on your patience.

Be assured, I am perfecting you for the future representation of Jesus. Step out whenever I call you. You need not know every step along the way. I will give you each place for your feet, but only as you need the next step. It is My pleasure to provide a safe path for you while you learn.”

James 1:2-4 AMP

2Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.

3Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.

4But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

Hebrews 11:6 NIV

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that He exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to having a faith walk. My Father has been so faithful countless times and to this day, when things get tough, I sometimes lose faith. Over the years, the Lord has taught our family to rely on His faithfulness, not on our ability to grunt our puny faith into existence. That understanding has helped me to weather the many storms that the Lord has seen us through.

It’s Your faithfulness, Lord, not my ability to have faith,

“I love investing in you. I love to see you grow from day to day. You are My gifts to the world. As I sent My Son, now I send you. As you become more like Jesus, others will love Him because they see Him in you, and will be brought into eternal life with Me. That is My plan. That is My heart’s purpose.

Keep coming to Me. I love to spend time with you. I am waiting for you to come close, so that I might bless you. You are very valuable to Me!”

Gen. 1:31 AMP

And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely…

John 3:16 NIV

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 14:10, 12-14 AMP

10Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).

12I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

Representatives of the living God on an assignment, for the purpose of allowing the life of Jesus to be imparted through us to those who need Him - that’s who we are in the eyes of God. Who would think that the One Who spoke the world into existence would want to use us - unfaithful, doubting us - to represent His Word? But He does. What an incredible privilege!

Work through me, Lord,

“Remember the tenderness of your first love with Me? Remember when being with Jesus was all that mattered to you?

I remember how sweet your spirit was. I remember the softness with which you even mentioned His Name. You need to go back to that place in your heart. The years, the worries, the warfare, and the disappointments have taken their toll.

You have become weary in your well-doing. The enemy of your soul has gained a foothold, causing you to concern yourself with momentary needs and longings for relief from My refining fires. My gift of discernment in you has caused you to become disappointed with those who cannot or will not see what you have been allowed to see.

You feel used, abused, and cast aside by those who can only take from you, giving nothing in return. At times, you even feel as if I have left you. I understand, but I cannot allow you to go there. You must shake loose from that destructive spirit. It is not of Me. Run back to Jesus as if your life depended on it. It does.”

Romans 8:38 NIV

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Dear remnant believer, hold fast. You are not alone. God has not forgotten you. As the cold, dead church seems to be oblivious to anything but their own needs, you cannot fall into the trap of envying their seemingly easy road. The refining fire has been turned up. The separation that must come has begun in earnest. There is no more “business as usual” for those who are part of this holy preparation.

You need to know that Jesus is waiting for you with the refreshing comfort of His love. He is the only source that will soon satisfy. Go there now! You must, once again, focus only on Him for comfort. You are being trained so that He is your only source for all your needs. Allow Him to rekindle your first love; then allow that love to have its complete work in you, maturing into an end-time bridal love. The Holy Spirit will carry you into His presence if you become too weak and weary to get there.

Take me back to my first love with You, Lord Jesus,

“As you work through those things that are placed in front of you, remember that there is a much larger picture that is unfolding. Your world is groaning as if in birth. My plan is unfolding at My rate of speed, on My terms, in response to My command. Soon, what seems very large in front of you will pass away.

Everything is about to change. When you are with Me, your darkest fear will not even be a memory. There is only one constant in your life. His Name is Jesus. He is with you now. He will be with you for eternity.

Embrace Him. Embrace His ways. The pattern that He has set for your life will be the way you will function for all eternity. You would do well to go to Him to find out what that is.”

Psalm 127:1 AMP

Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; except the Lord keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.

Proverbs 20:24 AMP

Man’s steps are ordered by the Lord….

Matthew 6:19-21 NIV

19“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Matthew 24:35 NIV

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”

Although Jesus is the Savior to all mankind, He is a very personal Savior to each of us. He is the one constant in every aspect of each of our lives. He is our individual hope, our personal wisdom, and our continual pattern for living. Our relationship with Him is never-ending, because He is never-ending. Wouldn’t it make sense to have Him be the priority in everything we do?

Thank You, Jesus,

“Where did you get the foolish notion that you would be ready for Jesus when He comes, if you have spent your lifetime pursuing other loves? How will He recognize those who are His, if they do not have the same heart motives and desires that He does - those who look and act just like Him?

It would be wise to decide to have Jesus as your only love. Your life should be spent in preparation for His return, not in pursuit of worldly comforts. Stop listening to useless arguments about when He is coming and live your days as if it were today.

This is your time of preparation. It is My time of making sure that all is complete. When all is in order, He will appear for those who are His, those who have given their hearts completely to Him. Will you have made yourself ready?”

James 4:4-10 AMP

4You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God! Do you not know that being the world’s friend is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God.

5Or do you suppose that the Scripture is speaking to no purpose that says, The Spirit Whom He has caused to dwell in us yearns over us and He yearns for the Spirit [to be welcome] with a jealous love?

6But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it).

7So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.

8Come close to God and He will come close to you. [Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hands clean; [realize that you have been disloyal] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [of your spiritual adultery].

9[As you draw near to God] be deeply penitent and grieve, even weep [over your disloyalty]. Let your laughter be turned to grief and your mirth to dejection and heartfelt shame [for your sins].

10Humble yourselves [feeling very insignificant] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up and make your lives significant].

Those who are aware of the times and seasons in which we live are divided into two groups. One group is preparing with moderate zeal because they understand how wonderful it would be to be part of what might soon take place. They are flowing in their usual “this is gonna be good for me” attitude and believe that it will be adequate for whatever happens, whenever it happens.

The other group, those of you who have chosen to live as Jesus lived, have heard the same call, only you have learned from intimate times with the Father that compromise is not part of the character of Jesus. You know that the kind of heart that finds satisfaction in anything other than the Father’s will is in no way similar to Jesus’ heart.

You have learned that it is important to the Father that Jesus recognize Himself in those who are waiting and/or working for Him. You know that responding to the present call to intimacy is important to God and are willing to do so for no other reason than to glorify the Father and please Jesus. You know that falling in love with Jesus, a vital and often missing part in the fulfillment of God’s plan, is necessary and you desire to do what it takes to go there.

Make me ready, Lord,

Jim Corbett
