"If you could see in the spiritual realm, you would see the endtime drama that is unfolding. Maybe then you would take seriously My call to holiness. Maybe then you would do whatever it takes to share Jesus with those who have not heard. You need to really address your priorities, eliminate your distractions, and repair the breaches in your relationship with Me. Stop where you are and find what is truth. Then embrace it and work with Me so that it is established in your life. Time is short. Come to Me now."

Isaiah 30:21 NIV

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

Isaiah 66:9 AMP

Shall I bring to the [moment of] birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV

11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you.

13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

Wake up calls are sometimes difficult to address, especially when we are focused on the busyness associated with holidays. In times of rejoicing, it is important to not be thrown so far off base that we forget our mission and the eternal times and seasons in which we live while we are here. God’s plans do not take vacations.

There really is a reason for this season. His Name is Jesus. Even the hardest heart opens up a little bit during this time. When you are dipping into that bowl of eggnog, be ready to respond to the heart standing next to you who needs to hear what you have been trained to give him or her. Jesus!

Make me available in every season, Lord,

"Storm clouds are on the horizon. What are you going to do to prepare? Are you going to stock up for yourself, so that you can have enough when others have nothing? My church has done that too often in the past. I prosper them and they pad their own rest areas. You may not do that if you wish to have peace during the times ahead. I will not honor your selfishness. I will not honor the attitude of “hunkering down” when there is so much to do. The times ahead are windows of opportunity. They are important seasons to tell others of My love. They are harvest times. Many souls will be thirsty for My living water.

Be assured of this one thing; take it to your heart. If you attempt to provide for yourself during these times instead of preparing to provide for others, I will not protect what you have stored up in your many barns. I will, in fact, send the worm and the plague to devour what you are attempting to hoard and hide from those who need it to share My Word. You will not be part of what I am doing and will spend your time in fear of loss, because you haven’t learned the perfect love of My Son. He gave everything away, even His life. Don’t tell Me that you are following Him if you act the opposite of how He told you to act.

Study His life now. Prepare to provide for those who need to hear what I have to say in the times ahead. The lonely will need My comfort. You comfort them as Jesus would. Those who fear will need to see the kind of strength that trusts Me and Me alone for safety. That kind of strength took Jesus to the cross. I have been calling My church to prepare for some time now. Few are responding. My patience is running out. Soon I will take from those who have, and give to those who will be true stewards of My property."

Revelation 3:15-19 NIV

15 "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot, I wish you were either one or the other!

16 So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

17 You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

18 I counsel you to buy gold from me refined in the fire, so you can become rich, and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent."

A while back, I had this dream. Because of what has been told to me in the above paragraph, I am sure of what the dream means. I pity anyone who is holding back the Lord’s provisions for the sake of his or her own gain.

There was a very large valley surrounded by majestic mountains. On one end there was a small area to enter the valley. The mountain tops were very fertile and each had many streams that were supposed to irrigate the valley, but all of them were dammed up by the people living on top of the mountain. The water was so abundant that it was backed up and seeping through cracks and over the top of the dams. People up there were very fat, and working feverishly to make more room for the water on top of the mountain. They were eating sandwiches, one after another, while they were working.

The valley was a very dry field of long grass. Many people were flowing in and out of the valley. They came in with empty glasses and left with small amounts of water in them. While they were in the valley, the valley workers spent time catching the drips from the overflow from the dam, and calling to the mountain people, asking if they would release some of the water. The mountain people wouldn’t release any more than a very small amount even though they had much more than they needed to survive. They were feverishly working to build more room for the water.

The dream then shifted to a sweet, peaceful rain. It rained only in the valley. The rain continued for many months until the valley was plush with vegetation, the tall grass now brilliant blooming flowers.

Many thirsty people came to the valley with giant buckets, large containers, and vessels of all sizes. Each left with their containers overflowing. I sensed that they were taking them to other dry valleys.

Because it did not rain in the mountains, the mountain people had to use up their rivers and streams until they were completely dry. The dream ended with the mountain people lying on scorched land, too weak to call for help and too proud to roll down the mountain into the valley.

Lord, break my heart for this mission field,

"Have you ever wondered where My anointing has gone? Have you noticed that the preaching in most churches falls two feet in front of the pastor’s mouth? Do you question why so-called “praise leaders” play well-orchestrated songs, but cannot lead anyone into My presence? Do you see the cold fellowships with their cold programs, incapable of touching their communities with power, love, and My presence? All of the above is because My real presence left you long ago and you haven’t even noticed. Each of you has wondered what is wrong in the church. Well, the basic problem is that I am no longer in most churches. I will not call Mine what I don’t own. I don’t own the hearts of most of My people.

It’s written in My Word that you have been bought with a price; that’s true. The problem is that most of you, My people, still believe that you have not been purchased. You go about your days thinking that I am with you for most of what you do. That is not true. How can I be with you when you lie to one another? How can you think that I could honor hatred, unforgiveness, jealousy, and backbiting? Do you think that My presence would dwell with you when you are unwilling to get rid of favorite sins that you harbor and hold in My face? You sing so-called praises to Me and say that you are preaching My Word, but most of the time you are doing it by yourself because of the sin in your life. Get real!

For many years I have tolerated your rebellion, so that you will be able to discern the difference between functioning in My presence and doing things on your own and calling them “anointed.” You are, at present, observing your so-called freedoms without My presence. It is becoming distasteful to you. Those of you who are really Mine long for Me to once again put My hand on your lives. When all is ready, I will again bring My presence to those who ardently desire to become like My Son, Jesus – those who hate their flesh and will no longer tolerate any of it in their midst. I will again draw close. I will have a people. Choose this day whom you will really serve!"

Exodus 33:3-5 NIV

3 "Go up to the land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go with you because you are a stiff-necked people and I might destroy you on the way.",/p>

4 When the people heard these distressing words, they began to mourn and no one put on any ornaments.

5 For the Lord had said to Moses, "Tell the Israelites, 'You are a stiff-necked people. If I were to go with you even for a moment, I might destroy you. Now take off your ornaments and I will decide what to do with you.' "

Exodus 33:13-16 NIV

13 "If I have found favor in your eyes, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people."

14 The Lord replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

15 Then Moses said to him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.

16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?"

Boy! Are we foolish!

Have you ever really observed a con man in action? All of his days are spent attempting to show himself as something that he is not. He connives, schemes, and plots all his steps just so that he has the appearance of good, when in reality there is nothing but evil behind everything he does. Once he is found out, his past actions become crystal clear and he is exposed for who he really is.

I see that as a parallel to most of today’s church. We attempt to grunt our way into an appearance of holiness. We manipulate each other with righteous-sounding words and false anointings, thinking that we are fooling God. Our actions are actually mocking Him. He is a holy God; but still we flaunt our "make–believe religion" in His face, thinking He will tolerate it because He has been merciful for so long. We don’t understand His ways. He has given us enough rope to hang ourselves.

In our foolishness and church games, we believe that we are a witness to the world. It’s fascinating that we are the only ones who can’t see our folly. The world has seen it long ago, and it has minimized our impact on them accordingly. They don’t hear, because we can’t tell them. We have no power to represent a holy life before them, because we do not crave to be holy ourselves. God has honored our wishes and left us to our foolishness for a while.

However, He will have a holy people. I am convinced that "game times" are almost over. God is making our own lives distasteful to us and is drawing us to Himself to again see who He really is. That will bring us to unqualified repentance. Everything starts there.

I believe that He is raising up a people to represent and honor Him properly. It starts with repentance and leads to holiness, as we spend time with Him with honest hearts. We are becoming aware of our false religion, and those who are really His are falling on their faces to honor Him and once again realize their need of Him. Soon we will do nothing without Him. Then, the world will take notice. Jesus will once again be in their midst.

"If I were to call you home this moment, would your life have been worthwhile? Would it have been of value to My kingdom on earth? Will it bring crowns for Jesus because you have been a player in My harvest? Will those around you have seen Jesus so beautifully in you that they couldn’t resist giving their lives to His Lordship? If not, what are you living for? More importantly, who are you living for? If these questions bring answers that do not please you, how do you think I feel about them?

Stop repenting of things. Repent of your life. Come to Me now. Need and accept My power to change who you are and what you do with My days. Find My perspective for your days. Do something about them before it’s too late. I am waiting with mercy and forgiveness. I love you, but I also love others who need you. Stop wasting your time on foolish endeavors. Change your ways, so that I can trust you and send the needy to you."

Esther 4:13-14 AMP

13 Then Mordecai told them to return this answer to Esther. Do not flatter yourself that you shall escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.

14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?

Psalm 25:12-14 NIV

12 Who, then, is the man that fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

13 He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.

14 The Lord confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them.

Isaiah 30:21 NIV

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying "This is the way; walk in it."

Luke 9:23-25 AMP

23 And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also].

24 For whoever would preserve his life and save it will lose and destroy it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he will preserve and save it [from the penalty of eternal death].

25 For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and ruins or forfeits (loses) himself?

We have been given one life to live and we have been born to live it for God’s purposes. If we are not ready to do that, He will make us ready if we go to Him. Most of us get in the habit of going to God with all our little sins that distract us and forget about our lives that are far from serving Him. It is good to repent of those things that are wrong, unless they get in the way of us understanding that our whole life has taken on a wrong perspective and is out of order.

When we begin to seek God for His purposes to be fulfilled in our lives, we begin to see things more clearly. He begins to bring forth a much bigger picture than our small, self-focused perspective. His mercy goads us to live for Him and gives us the ability to do so as much as we can. All the while He keeps changing us to be more like Jesus.

Almost two thousand years after His resurrection, Jesus is still joyously reproducing every fiber of His being in anyone who embraces Him as Lord and chooses to sell out to His kind of life. That is the Father’s chosen way of bringing lost people to Himself.

The life of Jesus is imparted to us through the Holy Spirit and we are supposed to simply carry Him to others by allowing Jesus to live His life through us. It is a wonderfully ordained concept of one living God’s way in front of another, who does the same in the midst of others, and so on.

How can it be then that we, as exact reproductions of the Lord because of His Holy Spirit living within each of us, can live daily among the inhabitants of this land and go unnoticed as resembling Him?

Today, most of us tell the story about a man named Jesus and expect people to embrace it unto salvation. Because of our lackluster Christianity, we talk of miracles of the past to show the power of God, name the heroes of the faith as the only testimony of God’s kind of life being lived through people; and rely on "preachers" to evangelize those to whom we should be showing Jesus. It never dawns on us that we are the message as well as the messenger. That’s too big a price to pay for most "Christians."

Thank You for Your mercy in allowing me time to change, Lord,

"I am very concerned about where you are getting what you are learning. You need to guard your heart. Make sure that the people you are listening to understand the times and seasons in which you live. Do not listen to those who have decided not to grow in Me and are working on an old anointing. They will confuse you. They have little to offer you. I am calling for repentant hearts. I am calling for intimacy. I am calling you to prepare for difficult times. Other gospels will not prepare you for what will be needed soon. You draw close to Me. You partake of the overcoming life that is yours. You come to receive My heart and My desires. I will give you manna hidden from those who refuse to lay their lives down for the sake of others. You come where I am, not where I have been. Seek out those of like mind, and receive fresh food for this day. I love you."

Isaiah 30:21 NIV

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

Mark 4:24 AMP

And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you – and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.

John 6:57-58 AMP

57 Just as the living Father sent Me and I live by (through, because of) the Father, even so whoever continues to feed on Me [whoever takes Me for his food and is nourished by Me] shall [in his turn] live through and because of Me.

58 This is the Bread that came down from heaven. It is not like the manna which our forefathers ate, and yet died; he who takes this Bread for his food shall live forever.

II Peter 3:16b-17 AMP

16b There are some things in those [epistles of Paul] that are difficult to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist and misconstrue to their own utter destruction, just as [they distort and misinterpret] the rest of the Scriptures.

17 Let me warn you therefore, beloved, that knowing these things beforehand, you should be on your guard, lest you be carried away by the error of lawless and wicked [persons and] fall from your own [present] firm condition [your own steadfastness of mind].

I love how our Father loves us and takes care of us. Since I have had the privilege of writing these “Father’s Heart” messages, I have seen the Father give us many glimpses of His wonderful character.

Today’s message is not new. He is once again focusing on something that has been said before, but is important enough to share again to make sure we learn the lesson. It assures me once more of His concern for our proper growth and His monitoring of that growth. He has once again given us guidelines for our safety now and in the future. What an incredible privilege it is to know how much He cares!

Thank You for being my Father,

"Be very, very careful. You need to watch what you are doing in the Name of Jesus. His reputation is at stake and I am very protective of His reputation. Some of you are going around proclaiming your foolish wisdom to a world that thinks you represent Him. You are light years from presenting His heart. You have taken the privilege of calling yourself by His Name and use it to mouth empty words and make believe doctrine. Sometimes you even proclaim modified doctrines of the world and call them Mine. You have become moral watchdogs and boastful fools, instead of sin-convicting, holy people. You are proclaiming another gospel and I am tired of it. You are under a strong delusion from the enemy of your soul.

Return to your first love. Return to proclaiming the heart of Jesus. Repent of your arrogance. You are doing much harm to My work. Either stop proclaiming a false gospel - one that is attempting to change your world and come against those I love who won’t join you - or stop calling yourself a follower of Jesus. His Gospel brought people to Me."

Hosea 4:6 AMP

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge…

John 3:30 AMP

He must increase, but I must decrease. [He must grow more prominent; I must grow less so.]

John 14:10-13 NIV

10 "Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.

12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father."

There is a clear line being drawn down the center of those who are calling themselves Christians. There are those who are doing His work after studying His life and doing the same as He did, while seeking to become like Him in every way; and there are those who are proclaiming their own idea of His work and putting His Name on it.

Show me truth, Lord,

"Resolve in your heart that you will serve no other gods, and I will be all the God you will ever need! I promise! Of course I never change. You, however, have a choice to make. If you continue to look in other places to find happiness of any kind, you will always have need of more than you will be able to see in Me. Your vision will be so obscured that I will never appear to be enough for you. That is, of course, pure foolishness. If, however, you turn from anything that takes My place in your heart, you will never need another love again. My love will fill you full. You see, I formed you. You fit nicely in the palm of My hand. My desire is to share Myself with you.

All that I have done on your behalf has been accomplished so that you and I can spend time together. I love you more than you will ever know, and take great pleasure in you becoming all that you have been created to be. You are the desire of My heart and the work of My hand. I will always be there for you. I will always be for you, never against you. Lay down everything that gets in the way of Our fellowship, and you will never be the same again. You will be complete for the first time in your life. I will be your God and you will be My people, a people blessed beyond measure, rising above every frailty of the world. I love it when that happens!"

Psalm 46:7 AMP

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our Fortress and High Tower). Selah [pause and calmly think of that]!

1 Peter 1:3-4 AMP

3 Praised, (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

4 [Born anew] into an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay [imperishable], unsullied and unfading, reserved in heaven for you.

As the darkness gathers strength, in the midst of our training to become all that we can be in Christ, isn’t it just like a loving Father to take the time to encourage us with His love? I love the idea of pausing and calmly thinking of that!

There is no question in my mind that we are in training for the closing, probably most difficult times since creation. I believe that our Lord is calling each of us to unprecedented union with Him so that His will is accomplished in our lives. There is no question in my mind about the seriousness of our calling and the intensity of His work being done in each of us.

The wooing to His love, however, brings glorious light in the midst of the death-life process that is taking place. We are called to remember the most important part of all of it. He - our Father God, the One True God, the Creator of all the heavens and the earth, that singular, magnificent, Holy God - loves us softly and tenderly. He desires to spend time with us while the salvation process of the whole world is being worked to its conclusion. That is a pretty astounding truth. I’m sure that He desires to bring comfort to our hearts as we ponder and embrace it.

I remember a song by Twila Paris called “The Warrior Is a Child.” It tells of a time in which the battle rages and the warrior comes running home to the safety of Father God. Part of one of the lines in the song says, “…I come running home when I fall down.” What a picture of our incredible heritage!

Thank You, ABBA,

"How do you rate other believers? When will you give up on those who do not believe? In fact, what is the benchmark you use to classify anyone that I place in your path? Do you know that My love has no limits? Everyone that has been given breath is very precious to Me. Jesus gave His life for your worst enemy. He died so that the one who hates you may find eternal peace with Me. Do you know that the very people that are part of your world are there so that they might embrace the work of the cross because you show it to them? You might encourage someone who is about to give up on Me, because they do not understand My ways. You might have the privilege of displaying the virtues of Jesus to those who hate Him and scorn His work. Contact with you might soften his or her heart. It could happen tomorrow. The very reason you may want to escape from the pressures of scrutinizing eyes and judgmental lips may be the reason I have placed you there. You are the vessel of My hope placed in their midst. What are you doing about it?"

II Cor. 6:3-13 NIV

3We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.

4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;

5 in beatings, imprisonment and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;

6 in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;

7 in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;

8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;

9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed;

10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing and yet possessing everything.

11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.

12 We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us.

13 As a fair exchange—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts also.

Most of us wait to one day be in ministry. What few of us realize is that from the moment we accepted Jesus as our Savior, we have entered the ministry. You and I are in full-time ministry. How and where we minister is the only difference. Someone once said that “ministry is a whole lot of ordinary days.” I find that very true.

I am often approached and asked how to get into full-time ministry. How do I start a youth group? How do I start a church fellowship? How do I win my husband or wife to the Lord, and so on? The Lord showed me the biblical formula for every one of those questions. His answer to me when I asked Him some of the same questions was: "Fall deeply in love with Jesus, and begin to love those around you."

"If I were to remove everything that you hold dear from your life, would you still serve Me with all your heart? You really need to think about that! Some of you base My love for you on how I have blessed you. You see yourself as being in right standing with Me because you have much to show for your efforts. You are living far from truth. The epitome of My love hung on a cross, bleeding for those who cursed Him and Me. That is how He prospered. He was the most prosperous person that ever walked your land. Jesus loved so much that He kept nothing for Himself, even His life.

Arrange your priorities to be in line with His priorities and you will truly prosper. Start by loving others more than you love yourself. That means some of you will have to eliminate the gods you have formed for yourselves - those gods that you really serve, and those that you demand serve you."

Proverbs 29:21 AMP

He who pampers his servant from childhood will have him expecting the rights of a son afterward.

When I study Proverbs 29:21, I see a picture of many of us who call ourselves Christians. The psalm reveals a heart that has become so blinded by his comforts that he has forgotten that they all have come to him because of the mercy and grace of his master. He now demands from the master instead of being grateful.

In these closing hours of time, God is revealing our true heart motives and demands. He is separating sheep from sheep, finding those of us who follow the Shepherd out of love rather than comfort and safety.

If your comfort, safety, and all the things with which you identify your prosperity were gone, would you still follow your Shepherd with a loving, devoted heart? You must, you know!

Teach me how, Lord,

"When you are ready, I will use you to show the world signs and wonders, confirming My Word. I will once again allow My Holy Spirit to flow, this time through you. First you need to allow Me to eliminate your flesh. You need to help Me destroy anything in you that will accept the praise and the glory for what I do in your midst, or I will not be able to trust you. If I am unable to trust you, you will be set aside in the same way that I will soon nullify those who have used My Word to build their mansions. Miracles, signs, and wonders are My way of confirming to the world what was accomplished at Calvary. They are not designed to be a side-show for some self-promoting performer. They are to bring the needy to Me. When you desire none of the credit for what I do, I will be able to flow mightily through you. Prepare your heart. Join Me in killing your flesh. Learn to go unrecognized in all that you do for Me. Then prepare to be used."

Acts 4:29-31 NIV

29 "Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your Word with great boldness.

30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."

31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And all were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

The above verses thrill and encourage me more each time I read them. I love the simplicity of honest hearts before a holy God. What strikes me most is the kind of prayer prayed, considering the dangerous situation that they were in. Here they were, hunted people being threatened with death because of the name of Jesus, all in a room for a prayer meeting. If that situation took place today, the most prevalent prayer would be to somehow deliver us from the dangerous situation, and protect us from harm. How different their heart was.

To ask the Lord for boldness to speak His Word, to heal, perform miracles, and present signs and wonders is light years ahead of us spiritually. Pretty selfless stuff if you ask me. Not even one little petition for safety.

In our day, we would have left that room to cower another day after asking for help for the way home. They left the room with their request for boldness fulfilled. They were trustworthy. We need to repent of our religious folly. They got to experience a Holy Spirit house shaking. We have only read about it.

Change my selfish prayers, Lord,

"Holiness and intimacy with Me is the antidote for any terror that comes your way. Nothing can stand against My presence. As you draw close to Me, you will know of My plans, understand My heart, and live My kind of life in your world. You will be impervious to any kind of threat from the enemy of your soul. You will move in unison with My will, hiding in the folds of My garment. There is no safer place. There is no more powerful place. There is no place more peaceful. Rest in Me! It is where you belong."

Gal. 2:20 AMP

I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Phil. 2:12b-13 AMP

12b …work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).

13 [Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.

Hebrews 10:14 NIV

Because by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Those who desire to draw closer to the Lord and become all that they are intended to be know that religion, soulish good works, and striving have no part in their lives. Sometimes, however, every one of us has a tendency to fall into the trap of each one of those elements, especially when we hear the call to holiness and preparation for the coming of our Lord.

As the Father reveals all aspects of His heart, sometimes I reel with the overwhelming challenge that I am called to face. I begin to condemn myself for who I am not, cower at the prospects ahead of me as a Christian in the coming times, stagger at the weight of my responsibility to represent Jesus properly; and become discouraged as I attempt to prepare for His return. It is then that I remember that none of this was my idea in the first place. My Father has ordained my life and has promised to fulfill His plan for it and in it. My job is simply to need Him desperately.

In the above verse in Hebrews 10, I am so encouraged by the statement "those who are being made holy." The wonderful part of "have [already] been made perfect" [in God’s eyes] is pretty incredible and difficult for me to understand fully, but "being made holy" soothes my heart.

At this very moment - and every moment until we are with our Father in Heaven - the process of making us holy is being accomplished, because we have surrendered our lives to Jesus and His completed work on the cross. When God is in the process of breaking us, He’s not trying so much to get us to say “uncle” as He is trying to get us to say "Abba."

Teach me to say more "ABBA" and less "uncle," Lord,

"What will be your legacy to future generations should the Lord tarry? For that matter, what kind of gift are you giving to those around you at present? What kind of person do people see when they observe your life? You are very fortunate. I have shown you the kind of character that truly pleases Me. Of course there is Jesus. He is the One that each of you should emulate. His life was perfect. Throughout the years, however, I have been pleased with many of My children. Their greatest asset was the understanding that their lives really meant something and they sought to find that meaning by seeking My heart; and then they followed what they learned from Me.

I observe the lives of you and your generation. It appears to Me that most of you have given little thought to the fact that you are building a legacy. You seem to go about your days focused on your personal, earthly portfolio and have little concern about the impact it has on those who will follow you. I am not impressed at how much you have in the bank, how big your house is; or for that matter, how big your church is. It all came from Me anyway. I am impressed with how much you honor My reputation, how much you value what was done for you on Calvary; and how much you love others. Everything else matters little to Me.

When was the last time that you began your day with the intent to honor Me in all that you did that day as your priority? When was the last time you determined in your heart to show everyone you met how valuable Jesus is to you? Have you ever begun your day with the goal of caring only for the needs of others, setting your own desires aside completely? That is the stuff I care about. I ask you this. After I call you home, what will people remember most about you? In the same way, what will you have in your portfolio to give to Me?"

Exodus 33:13 NIV

"If I have found favor in your eyes, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you.”

2 Cor. 3:2-3 NIV

2 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody.

3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Heb. 12:1 NIV

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

One of the realizations that came to me some time ago is the fact that I can do nothing about what I have already done. It’s true. I can mend some broken fences, heal some soiled relationships, and rethink some of the mistakes; but I can’t undo what has already been established as my life. It is what will be presented to the Lord as my legacy when I face Him. That frightened me enough to push the pause button. In my pondering, the Lord showed me that every action I take, every move I make, every situation I face, every interaction I have, and every word I say are creating my legacy. The moment they occur, they are unchangeable, cut in stone for eternity. I wanted to stop time, move the clock back, erase the board, and hide away until I could come up with a better game plan than I had so far. It was a very rude awakening.

After I pushed away a feeling of panic, wanting to try to stop my life from infecting more people adversely, I realized two things. First, the Lord showed me that His abundant mercy more than covered my abundant foolishness. He had it covered! Whew!!

Second, now that I was aware of the fact that my life really mattered to the plan of God, I had a responsibility to do something about it. The bottom line was I called myself a Christian, so I represented Jesus in everything I did or said whether I wanted to or not. I am the letter that He sends to those in my determined circle of influence. I am what He looks like to the grocer, the baker, and the candlestick maker. What I say and do to them is, in their eyes and in the eyes of My Father, my representation of Jesus. They see who He is by who I am! One day I will see how well I did. I’m sure that my legacy will be covered in abundant mercy, but will it look like a crown?

Needing to really understand the impact of my life,

"When I put you in a place where you cannot move and have hemmed you in all around so that you must make difficult choices, I am allowing you to see who your god really is. In most cases, your god is your need at the time. It is all that you can think about. It is what you focus all of your attention on. It is what you serve with all your heart. You must take your eyes off of your need and find what I am doing in your situation. Begin to focus on the need of others. Begin to find My purpose in the situation that you are in. Fools serve Me only from their comfort areas. My power flows through you when you serve Me from a place of challenge."

Matthew 26:53-54 NIV

53 "Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?"

Luke 23:34 NIV

Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

Phil 4:13 AMP

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].

Jesus cared more for the souls of those who drove the nails in His hands than He cared for the pain He was going through. Paul ministered to those in need from a prison cell. Those who lost their homes proclaimed the gospel from their place of need.

Throughout the Word of God, we see the true heart of many individuals emerge when they are faced with much need themselves. We see the rich young ruler choosing to cast aside his own salvation rather than loosen his grip on his god of money. In contrast, we see Paul choose obedience to his Lord over his own comfort and safety. Each instance was an exposure of heart motive. One failed miserably; the other glorified the Lord.

At this very moment in time, I believe that God is again exposing the true heart motives of the church. From difficult places, extreme circumstances, unusual challenges, and God- orchestrated opportunities, whether we know it or not, we are once again proclaiming out loud by our words and actions, who or what holds our hearts and is the true lord of our lives. Our mask of religion is being taken from us by everyday occurrences, revealing an honest image of who we really are and what god controls our lives.

Bring me to repentance if I serve anyone or anything but you, Lord,

"As soon as you sell out to Me, people will not know what to do with you. Once you begin to flow in My anointing, the world and most of the church will not understand your actions. They may need and sometimes want what you have for a while, but often you will not be part of their inner circle. Because you will flow in unison with My will, you will not act according to the flesh. You will be trained to hear My voice and then move for My reasons alone. Therefore, you will no longer fit into the world, and you will be a challenge to the cold church. If your anointing is to provide finances to My people, your “overly benevolent” actions will look like foolishness to others who hoard their money for themselves.

You, however, will flow freely with Me, building My kingdom by supplying My servants with the needed resources to do their work. Typical tithes and offerings will be exposed in your heart as elementary forms of giving when you move in concert with My heart into the realm of being honest stewards of My resources. If your anointing is to flow with Me as your only reason for breathing, you will not travel the “normal” ways of living. Your will hear only My heartbeat and be moved only by My voice. Your actions will always be scrutinized and judged by those who choose to walk in the ways of the world, but claim to be following Me. You will not be any fun to be around when you are not needed. You will understand the loneliness that My Son felt, even in the midst of a crowd. Your only solace will be to be in My presence.

When you - My servants with both of these gifts and with other gifts that complete My church - are with people, your lives will convict them of who they are not in Christ. They will need to either repent of their way of life, flee from you, or separate you from their world through mudslinging or deceit. They will do all that they can to remove the conviction that they feel simply by your presence. Understand that they are not rejecting you; they are rejecting Me. I am using you to give them an opportunity to change.

I Cor. 4:9-13 NIV

9 For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men.

10 We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!

11 To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless.

12 We work hard with our hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;

13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world.

We’ve all heard the story of the man of God who was on a train and people moved from his presence saying that he convicted them of their sin, even though he had not said a word. Have you, however, lived the story?

If you are following hard after God, (I’m not talking about foolish, ignorant behavior, and single doctrine causes that are supposedly done in the name of Christ,) you have felt the sting of rejection, separation, and judgment. You will be used and then set aside until you are needed again for the next gala fundraiser or healing meeting, depending on your gift of service. That is the same warfare in action.

You may not feel like the powerful person of God; but whether you know it or not, your anointing is at work. The world and the mainstream church will not know how to talk to you, and definitely will not know what to do with you. You won’t be wanted in most circles because you convict people of their actions and pet beliefs for what they really are - sin. People will need to attempt to pigeon hole you in some area that makes sense to their blind religion. When they can’t do that, they will have to either allow the Holy Spirit to change them, or they will flee from you. Your mere presence will sometimes do more havoc in the spiritual realm than anything that you say or do. It is God at work, His Spirit colliding with their carnal spirits. In the unseen spiritual realm, it is intense, violent spiritual warfare being accomplished by the hand of God. As soon as the feet of Jesus touched the Jordan River, the world felt the effect of His presence. Walking only with His Father, doing only His Father’s will, people were moved from their complacency by His words, actions, and His mere presence. We are called to be the same kind of influence in our world. If we seek only the face of God and His holiness, we will follow Him in true obedience. He will take care of the rest.

Wanting to go deeper, no matter what the cost,

Jim Corbett

"Do you fully understand the impact of the changed life I have given you, or has your heart become dull over time? Remember how I changed your life when you entered covenant with Me? Remember how dead you were before I brought you to life through your acceptance of Jesus as your Lord? We entered covenant then. You promised to have Him be Lord over your very existence; all that you are and everything that you have. You were purchased by His blood. At that time, My covenant promise to always be your Father and to conform you into His image also went into effect. Moment by moment, you are being made into His likeness, so that others can see Jesus in you and embrace Him, just like you did.

When your work is finished, I promised to bring you home to Me. Don’t minimize the importance of Our covenant. It has a daily benefit for you and many others, and an eternal benefit when your task is completed. Stir up your first love energy again. Do not become weary because of the refining I am doing in you. Benefit others by your new life. Bring the love of Jesus to them today."

Matthew 25:23 NIV

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'"

John 3:5-8 NIV

5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

7 You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'

8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

2 Cor. 5:17 AMP

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ, (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

2 Cor. 5:20a NIV

"We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us."

So often the cares of our days quiet our hearts to the astounding event that has happened to each of us who have given our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We forget that we are made new in Jesus so that we can learn of Him, submit to our Father’s promise to us and then do His work on this earth. That is our sole purpose for taking each new breath.

If that is really the truth in Christ, how does our life compare to the intent God has for it?

Help me to remember and submit, Lord,

"Do you really love Me? Before you answer, you need to remember that I look past your words and observe your actions. Are you obedient to the commands that I have given you - like loving one another, living as Jesus would in the midst of your world, and trusting Me in every aspect of your life? I am going to form you into the image of Jesus. That is My promise to you. Part of your new nature is your ability to love Me and love others, as Jesus did. My interaction with Jesus, and Our interaction with your world, was based on love. When I can trust you to love as He does, We can move together. To be part of anything that We do, your actions must prove your words of love to Me. To do less is simply foolish religion. To say you love Me, and then not do what I ask of you, makes you a liar."

John 13:34-35 NIV

34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

35 All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another."

I Th. 3:12-13 AMP

12 And may the Lord make you to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another and for all people, just as we also do for you,

13 So that He may strengthen and confirm and establish your hearts faultlessly pure and unblamable in holiness in the sight of our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) with all His saints (the holy and glorified people of God)! Amen, (so be it)!

Jas 1:22 AMP

But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deep deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].

I John 2:5-6 AMP

5 But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him:

6 Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

There are so many Bible verses pertaining to today’s message that I just chose a few to whet your appetite. Our Father in heaven is very serious about the issue of love. Everything He does is done because of His love. Why then, do we feel that we can function with any other motivation, and believe that we are still in His will?

Help me, Lord,

"Do you know that you are making history? It’s true. Everything that you do and every thought you think are recorded as your epitaph. Nothing is hidden; all will be brought to light on that day when you stand before Me. It will be much different than you think in many ways, some of them far beyond your understanding. You need to understand something. Some of you are attempting to accomplish much in Jesus’ Name, so that one day crowns for your work can be laid at His feet. I understand that. It is noble on your part. What you do now will be part of who you are forever. What you are often missing, however, are two key elements that will comprise the formation of most of the crowns given to Him. They are a priority on My heart and should be part of everything that you present to Me that day as your testimony.

I desire obedience and a proper heart motive. You could present volumes that you have accomplished, supposedly in Jesus’ Name, and it would mean little to Me if your deeds were not accomplished out of obedience and with a proper heart motive. Without them, you could accomplish many good works and never really know Me. What good would that do? Many people do that, and I spend My time bringing them into a relationship with Me. You, however, need to fully understand and embrace what I am saying. You will be accountable for your heart motive in all that you have done for Me. Even if everything you did was wrong; but you sought to please Me with all your heart as your only motive for everything you did, you will be flooded with grace and mercy. I will be pleased.

In the same way, if you appear to accomplish very little for Me, but sought Me for My will and then were obedient to what I told you to do, I will rejoice. You need to stop thinking with your carnal mind and enjoy your fellowship with Me. If you do that, much will be accomplished for My kingdom. I love to show you My path. It is narrow, but your burden will be light."

1 Sam. 15:22b NIV

"…To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams."

Matt. 7: 21-23 NIV

21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

22 "Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?"

23 "Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you…'"

Boy, it seems that this obedience and heart motive thing is really important to God. Obedience is required, but we can have obedience without the proper heart motive - and that is no good. However, we can be mistaken in our actions - meaning that after seeking the Lord’s will, we do not hear it correctly, but still have the proper heart motive – and everything is covered by His mercy.

I’m convinced that our Lord is much more concerned about our relationship with Him than any amount of things that we do for Him. That may seem relatively basic, but somehow we always seem to get it backwards.

Sitting here in the early morning hours, writing this message, the Lord is having me question what I am doing with my life and why I am really doing much of it. I see, overall, that I am on the right track; but some of my motives need to be adjusted. That is pretty freeing. I can be wrong, but never condemned. As I repent of those things that are out of line, waves of peace come over me. In some instances, striving is replaced by trust, questions are replaced by faith, and much more. What an incredible opportunity - this relationship with God because of Jesus!

Thank You, Jesus!

"Would you do what I ask you to do just because I desire it? Would you do it if it made no worldly sense? What if you gained nothing from it? You see, whether or not it makes worldly sense or whether or not you gain anything from what I ask of you should never be factored into the response you give. Will you do what I ask of you just because you love Me and choose to be obedient to My wishes? Sometimes I have far greater motives than you can see when I ask something of you. Your obedience is much more important than the outcome of anything you do. You need to begin to enjoy walking in obedience to My desires. Your obedience delights My heart. Let that be enough. Have fun just walking where I tell you to walk and doing things just because I ask you to do them. I'll take care of the results My way, in My time, for My glory. I love you."

I Sam. 15:22 NIV

But Samuel replied: "Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams."

Isa. 55:8-9 NIV

8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

John 14:23-24 NIV

23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me."

Phil. 4:6-7 AMP

6Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

7 And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

What incredible freedom it is to have a firm commitment to do the will of God and to trust Him! Once that commitment is solid, it relieves us from all worry. We know what to do because we have sought His will and then we just do it. It's that simple!

Confusion sets in and becomes overwhelming when ideas, fears, and concepts from the world and its ways take our attention away from what we know to be true. When we are inundated with and flow in the results-oriented attitude of the world, we can't see the hand of God at work even when it is very visible. God's results rarely look the same as the results the world usually provides.

God's ways are very straight-forward. If we do what He asks us to do, He will take care of the rest. We don't have to worry. We don't have to fear if our prayers will be answered. We can peacefully rest in the promise that He is our God and He will do what is best for us and for His plan to go forth. Everything will be taken care of His way - in His time.

Thank You for Your promises, Lord,

Jim Corbett

"As you become obedient to Me, there will be no end to the legacy that you will leave for others. Do not try to reason out My call to you. If you do, you will try to outguess Me and make fatal mistakes. My provision for you has never been for you to consume blessings upon yourself. Remember My Son? His work continues to this day because He gave everything away, keeping nothing for Himself, including His life. Give your gifts freely, and they will be amplified by My heavenly provisions to become eternal gifts with eternal value."

Ephesians 1:17-19 AMP

17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,

18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),

19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength…

Ephesians 5:1-2 AMP

1 THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].

2 And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.

For the longest time, I don’t believe that I ever thought that my life and the things that I did were building a legacy, an eternal one at that. I mean, I knew that everything I did throughout my life impacted other people’s lives in my small circle in some way. I knew that future generations were formed and life patterns were affected by my actions toward those with whom I came in contact, but an eternal legacy to many for hundreds of years from now, should the Lord tarry? That word “legacy” somehow impacted me as never before.

By definition, a legacy usually means money or tangible wealth handed down to another generation through a will. It is a transfer of wealth from one generation to the loved ones of another. As a Christian, it didn’t occur to me that multiple future generations could become spiritually impoverished or wealthy because of what I allow or do not allow God to do with my life.

How many succeeding generations have been impacted by how Paul allowed God to direct his life? What about Finney, Moody, Wesley, or actually anybody who truly followed after God, whose name we have never heard of? Through the life that they lived, how many families have been able to pass on an eternal legacy to others - and they, in turn, to others? I wonder if they ever thought of the wealth that they gave to others because of their obedience to the will of God. Probably not. They were more than likely too busy caring and submitting to their Lord to ever really stop and think about it.

Conversely, how much untold harm has been caused by all the foolish people who chose not to follow God in Spirit and in truth? What kind of mire has been caused by the disobedience or the rebellion of people who only cared for themselves and their puny existence? It seems that the Lord is saying that I should evaluate my life - my every interaction with others - and realize how important it is to God from that perspective. He is reminding me that there is an eternal generation whose relationship with God may be affected by whether or not I am obedient to God and allow Him to work through me. Perhaps He is saying the same to you.

Needing His power to truly understand how important my actions and choices are to others—and to the God Who loves them,

"Often I watch you as you go about your business and marvel. You delight Me. I am struck by the way that you get up when you fall. I cherish the times that I see you venture into the unknown, trusting Me to guide and protect you. It pleases My heart when you tell others of My love. I boast about you as you turn in My direction rather than the ways that you used to go. Most of all, I delight in Our times together. You are very precious to Me. I think that you are wonderfully made. When you share your life with Me, My heart bursts with a desire to give Myself to you fully, so that you would have everything you need to prosper. I love to listen to you. I love to fulfill your needs. I think that it is precious when you come and sit with Me. I wish that you would come more often and stay longer.

Did you know that when you leave, some of Me goes with you? It's true. I give some of Myself to you each time We are together. You take it with you so that you can function a little more like Jesus. Even though you have been wonderfully made, you are every day taking on a little more of who Jesus is. Thank you for praising Me. Bless you for representing Me. You are very valuable. I love you."

2 Cor. 6:18 NIV

I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

I John 3:1-2 NIV

1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Most of us walk in fear of our loving Father in heaven. There is no question that He is the awesome, almighty God; but to not embrace Him as a loving Father, our Abba, would deny the work of the cross.

Originally we were formed in His image, designed to have fellowship with our Lord. Sin separated us from that true fellowship; but the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus completely restored it.

Maybe it's time for each of us to revisit what has been done for us by Jesus. Maybe we should go to our Father, and ask Him to tell us what He really thinks of us. Maybe when we do, we might find the proper place that has been established for us; one of a very much loved child. Too good to be true? No! So good because it is true.

Excited every time I get to jump on my Abba's lap,

“Do you know what My anointing is? It is when I take your small offering and empower it through My Holy Spirit. My presence and My power do all of the work to make an optimum impact in all that I call you to do. Understand that you have little to offer Me other than your full surrender to My power. Your skills are limited. I know that. It’s how I planned it. Mine are boundless, eternal, and accompanied by sovereign insights. Allow Me to amplify your offering of love into the eternal realm. Allow Me to do everything My way through you. You will marvel at how free you will be to enjoy what I call you to do, as you see how much is accomplished when you wait for Me to do it My way.”

Esther 6:1-3 AMP

1On that night the king could not sleep; and he ordered that the book of memorable deeds, the chronicles, be brought, and they were read before the king.

2 And it was found written there how Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s attendants who guarded the door, who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.

3 And the king said, What honor or distinction has been given Mordecai for this? Then the king’s servants who ministered to him said, Nothing has been done for him.

Psalm 106:12-15a AMP

12 Then [Israel] believed His words [trusting in, relying on them]; they sang His praise.

13 But they hastily forgot His works; they did not [earnestly] wait for His plans [to develop] regarding them,

14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted and tried to restrain God [with their insistent desires] in the desert.

15a And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their souls…

The verses above minister mightily to me. The verses in Esther tell of a time when a king, unbeknownst to him, was awakened so that he could be used to further the mission of the Lord. God was working behind the scenes in His power. Mordecai was probably fretting and sleeplessly wondering how he was ever going to accomplish what was necessary, when all the while God was in the process of doing what Mordecai could never have done. God gave him favor in the heart of the king.

The verses in Psalm 106 smack of a people who insisted on their own way, not caring past their own needs. God answered their hard-hearted whining, giving them what they wanted; but also limited them to only what their carnal requests could produce. They missed the abundance God had for them, because they chose not to wait for God’s ways to unfold.

Let me not miss Your plans and Your ways, Lord,

There is a very real reason for My allowing you to go through difficult times. There are also times that I discipline you. You are in My school of refinement and training. It is called bridal preparation. Those of you who are wise volunteer for My hand of discipline to be heavy upon you from the beginning of your walk with Me. Those who are foolish have little desire to pay the price of true fellowship and intimacy. They have chosen to consume what is not theirs and hold on to what they no longer own. They are so busy providing for themselves that they have missed one of the real purposes for Our relationship.

Jesus is returning for those who have the same heart as His. I am developing that heart in those who press in and request it. I am allowing those who do not desire absolute submission to go their way. In the times ahead, those who have chosen the route of limited submission will be brought to full submission through very difficult times. You will be at peace. They will learn what you have known all along."

I Sam. 16:7b AMP

For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

Proverbs 29:21 AMP

He who pampers his servant from childhood will have him expecting the rights of a son afterward.

Phil. 3:14-15 AMP

14 I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

15 So let those [of us] who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions; and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also.

Rev. 3:19 AMP

Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I tell their faults and convict and convince and reprove and chasten [I discipline and instruct them]. So be enthusiastic and in earnest and burning with zeal and repent [changing your mind and attitude].

I believe that there are going to be some very surprised people when the standard that is required by God is revealed. Just a simple perusal of the churches of Revelation indicates that He is exposing attitudes that don’t live up to His ideals. There is a price for spiritual complacency within the body of Christ.

Most of the popular church today examines the pages of the Bible to find the provisions for good health, the right to great wealth, and the guarantee of safety for eternity. That is a mindset that is diametrically opposed to the mind of Christ. It is the posture of a self-serving, self-oriented carnal mind, not the mind of Christ.

Jesus set a standard when He left unimaginable wealth, position, and power to walk on this earth as an impoverished servant to all, anxious to die for those who hated Him. His standard is the bench mark for all who come after Him as they press forward. It is the high calling of Jesus Christ, which we all talk about, but few really seek.

When the call to join Jesus in the marriage supper is heralded, it is hard to imagine that it would include those who have never wanted to be there except to feast and fill themselves. I see the standard that Jesus set scoffed at, and replaced so often by another kind of Gospel; and I am fearful for those who promote it. There are too many places in the Word that goad all of us to “be as He is.” I believe that He will come for those who are looking and preparing their hearts for His return as their only purpose in this life, functioning as He did while they wait.

Turn my heart, Lord,

"In your world, you are supposed to be a light that draws people to Jesus. I am doing a great work in you. It is so that others can be set free. First, however, you must be free. Submit everything in you that does not represent Jesus properly. I will take your wounds and heal you. I will take your sin and remove it as far as the east is from the west. I will take your fears and replace them with absolute confidence in My faithfulness. Once you fully understand the access to Me that Jesus provided when the veil was torn, you will never lack for anything again. I am your provider. I will equip you for service. I will protect you. Come to Me now. I am waiting to form you for My service."

Psalm 119: 105 NIV

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

Luke 23:44-45 NIV

44 It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour,

45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

Romans 12:1 NIV

Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God…

I Peter 2:24 AMP

He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.

Access to the inner chambers of God has been provided for us by the work of Jesus on the cross. His death and subsequent resurrection opened the door of communication for us. We now have unlimited audience with God whenever we have any kind of need, question, or just a desire to spend time with Him. It is one of the covenant commitments God made with Jesus for us. In God’s eyes, we have exchanged our old carnal life for a new spiritual life that is accepted by Him forever. The covenant cannot be broken.

In prayer, there is a connection between what God does and what you are to do. Prayer (communication with God) is the vehicle that Father God has established for us to navigate from the physical realm to the spiritual realm and back again to accomplish His will from heaven to earth through us.

Through this communication and because of the work of Jesus, God brings Himself, His plans, and His very being into His established tabernacles – us. Within the communication, we present our requests for all that is necessary for us to become who we need to be. Our Father also communicates His will to us. It is true communication between the Creator and His creation, with Father God all the while fine tuning our encounters with Him through the Holy Spirit.

Make my time with You the most important time of my day, Lord,

"In this season, I am raising you up to be a victorious people, who are looking only to Jesus as your model for living. It is a training to be a warrior, a preparation to be a bride. You, My special warriors, are being called, appointed, cleansed, and prepared to represent Him to a world that is completely out of answers. You will give those who will listen the only answer - Jesus. You will also present to those who will not hear, the One who will seal their doom; that is also Jesus. Jesus will be seen to either be accepted or rejected. The preparation for your presentation is taking place in you this very moment. As this training for My kind of presentation is being accomplished in you, another wonder is also happening. You are being prepared for a wedding feast. You will notice a shift in your motives as this second phase transpires. You will be well aware of the war that is at hand, but you will be looking only to Jesus while it takes place. That may seem simplistic, but it is paramount to your place with Me. The ability to see the need to be at war is an elementary stage of preparation. Almost anyone who observes daily happenings can do so.

Implementation can take many forms, some of which are not My kind of warfare. True preparation, however, involves becoming like Jesus. In doing so, you also become ready to meet Him because you will be like Him. Your progress is marked by how little you focus on the war at hand, knowing that I will handle that; and how much you long to be with Him, while you engage in the battles all around you in His power. That heart position separates those who have fully submitted to My kind of training, and those who have stopped short. You, My fully equipped warrior bride, will soon long only to be with Jesus; but you’ll also be willing to remain at war for His sake and His glory. The battles that rage all around you will simply be catalysts used to cleanse your garments, rather than to strengthen your resolve to win. I love who you are becoming!"

II Cor. 2:14-16a AMP

14 But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victories] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere.

15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which] exhales] unto God, [discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:

16a To the latter it is an aroma [wafted] from death to death [a fatal odor, the smell of doom]; to the former it is an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh].

I John 4:4 AMP

Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.

In this world, there are players who determine how most of the world runs. Players are continually positioning themselves to be seen, heralded, and brought to the forefront in everything they do. They are usually strong, popular, visible, and appear to be in control of every aspect of their lives. They look and smell successful.

The training to become a player in life is rigorous and all-consuming. To really enter the game, one must consider the game as all important. To win the game, family, friends, and fellow players must be secondary to whatever it takes to succeed. There can be no compromise; second place is not an option. After the game is over, most players find themselves in need of attempting to pick up the pieces of their lives and mend the relationships that were destroyed during the game.

The training to become a real “player” in the kingdom of God is the antithesis of what is called “winning at life.” The goal of the true servant of Jesus Christ is to decrease and have Him increase. His priority is not so much what he can accomplish, but his ability to submit and have Jesus’ life accomplished in him.

All training for “players” in the kingdom of God is designed to crush the life out of the player, so that the life of the King can replace it. Submission must replace strength, independence must give way to obedience; and self motives fall to the honor of seeing Jesus glorified everywhere and in everything. True success in the kingdom of God happens when the person in training disappears completely and the Son of God is all that is seen in his life. Quietly, without fanfare, a “player” in the kingdom will go about the business of his appointed role, lovingly observed by God; but ignored and scorned by the world.

Wanting to see no good in the world’s ways any more,

"Come away with Me. I encourage you to seek fresh manna each day and also find the hidden manna that will satisfy the hunger of your soul. Both will be needed in the coming times. The defining line has been drawn. It is a line that determines who will prosper and accomplish My will and who will simply survive, making it from day to day without direction or purpose. For many seasons, I have called you to an intimacy with Me. I have called you to make the time We spend together your priority. Those of you who have heard My call are accustomed to receiving the needed spiritual manna for each day. You are familiar with the strong meats that I have given you to eat - meats such as faith in adversity, absolute trust, and the ability to allow Me to be your defender. You have received spiritual tools too numerous to mention. You have received the nourishment to overcome the difficult places designed to eliminate your flesh and either expose your sin or testify of your faithfulness.

Now you are able to receive My hidden manna, nourishment that comes only through intimacy and unattainable to the irresponsible. I can trust you to move with Me and be immovable by circumstances and pressures. I will now give you the power of My Word because you can be trusted with it. Those of you who have not heeded My desire to come close will be tossed around by your changing world. You will be looking for ways to maintain your comfort rather than walking with Me. You will have no ability to gather the proper manna to overcome. You will be blind guides, all because you wouldn’t come when I called."

Zechariah 7:13 NIV

"When I called, they did not listen; so when they called, I would not listen..."

Hebrews 13:10 NIV

We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle have no right to eat.

When the Lord gave these verses to me as an amplification of the word above, I had to really seek His heart. They seemed marginally in context to me, but at the same time did amplify the heart of what He wanted to show me.

I know that because of the cross, our God always answers when we call. He will never leave us or forsake us. That is an unbreakable promise. I also know that when we identify with Jesus, He is always there to hear our call.

I finally understood the image that the Lord was attempting to show me. It is a degree of association, not one of acceptance. Every one of us is equally accepted in the eyes of our Lord. We all have been saved by the blood and can have confidence in its redeeming power on that day.

What the Lord was bringing home to me was the issue of being capable and steadfast in difficult times because of our choice and habit of being infused with His power, rather than functioning in our own wisdom, strength, and old spiritual food. It is that continual call to intimacy, a time when He gives us Himself rather than things, that so has the heart of God for His people.

Recently, I was perusing some old teachings. While I was reading them, I remembered when I had used them in a college and career class that I held. It amazed me when I remembered the issues that captured our thoughts then, compared to the issues we face today. Our world has changed so much that the wisdom and strength that was needed to make it through those days is completely inadequate for today’s needs. It is a comparison of elementary school to college.

We are on the threshold of even greater changes to our world. I am convinced that is why the Lord continually brings up the issue of intimacy. He knows that we need to fully receive who He is in us in order to rise above what is about to occur, and not just muddle through it ineffectively.

It fascinates me how much time He has to spend calling and wooing us to a place we should readily want to go, especially as we see what is on the near horizon. We are so hard of heart that we don’t even want to pray except when we are in trouble. The thought of true intimacy, fresh manna, and especially the hidden manna of His heart eludes most of us. What a pitiful shame.

Please do not stop wooing me, Lord,

Jim Corbett

"You need to sell out completely. Come away from all the distractions that hinder Our relationship. Step away from those who choose not to come closer to Me. They will slow you down and confuse you with their religious talk. In the near future, you will need to have clear direction. You will need to know exactly which steps to take. You will need to be spiritually alive to My direction. That is a learning process. Start now! Learn to hear My voice over the din of other voices that are dead ends. You will die where they take you."

Psalm 25:14 NIV

The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

8"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.

9 As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Amos 5:4b AMP

…Seek Me [inquire for and of Me and require Me as you require food] and you shall live!

Breaking free from the religious spirit is one of the biggest challenges that remnant believers face. I recently talked to a teacher of many people who would rather hang on to his arguable religious dogma than allow those under him to be brought to a deeper walk with the Lord by challenging them to sell out and seek the Lord’s truth for themselves. This man is to be pitied. He is in a fearsome position and will one day have to answer for his actions face to face with Jesus.

"I want you to be free from the bondages the world would attempt to place on you. Draw close to Me and I will teach you how to love unashamedly. I will free you from the fear of loss. You can stop defending your reputation, for I will be your defender. In times of trouble, I will be your strong tower, your rear guard, your most capable warrior. You will never need to worry about the day’s hardships, for I will always provide for you. Others will prosper, for I will provide for them through your life. You will be blessed in your comings and goings, for you are Mine. You will be able to freely bless others, for I am with you. I love you. I love to set you free. I love to make you complete in Me through Jesus!"

2 Chr. 16:9 NIV

“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him...”

Psalm 3:1-6

1 AMP Lord, How they are increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.

2 Many are saying of me, there is no help for him in God. Selah [pause and calmly think of that]!

3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

4 With my voice I cry to the Lord and He hears and answers me out of His holy hill. Selah [pause and calmly think of that]!

5 I lay down and slept, I awakened again, for the Lord sustains me.

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me round about.

Psalm 18:1-2 NIV

1 I love you, O Lord my strength.

2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, He is my shield…

In this present time, there is an onslaught to destroy the faith of weak or ignorant Christians. The best way that the enemy can destroy who we are, or what has been done for us through Jesus and the corresponding wonder of our relationship with Him, is to diminish who God really is in our eyes. We must never forget that this is the very same God Moses could not look upon because of His glory.

The “smaller” our God and Lord can be made to appear to us, the weaker He will seem and our faith will become. The weaker He seems, the less we will be in awe of Him. That is hazardous to our walk with Him; and consequently, to our wonder of Him and trust in Him as God. Fact is, there is only One God. He is El Shaddai. He is more powerful than any need, greater than any foe; and worthy of all honor and glory. His will brought everything into being by simply speaking it into existence. He is God and there is no other. He held our first breath and owns our last. It is right to serve Him and live only for Him.

Teach me to understand Who You really are, Lord,

Jim Corbett
